Mild and somewhat watery. A very drinkable Okto and just the type to be distributed by Budweiser. Drinkable and sort of a Marzen-lite.

Rich, sweet and quite vibrant aroma, with a variety of bright dark fruits and juicy hops in the nose. Dark orange color, with a light, but immense froth. Flavor is suprisingly hop accented, not exactly what you would expect from a so called "oktoberfest." I guess I was expecting a marzen, but I received a clean and nicely balanced beer, with a rich flavor. Toffee, hazelnut and caramel flavors, with a nice hop kick, especially on the finish, with hints of resins and grapefruit.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2007 I thought this was very nice amber ale - similiar to the Drop-Top Amber, but more malt and spice and no rancid smell of old fruit flavor. Very rich and malty. Complex smokey, carmel malt, and distinct hop presence.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2006 Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Drank this baby at about 2 AM on Friday, September 1st. Steady 60 mph wind and rain pounding the front of the beach house. Sliding glass door is bulging, but not breaking... and I’m drinking... a clear copper lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Lots of sticky, melted caramel in the aroma. Caramely, malty-sweet flavor. Medium-bodied and milky with modest carbonation. Malty, gummy finish. Yum! Thanks kenb!

Bitter dry and nutty. Pours an orangish brown color. Pretty nice oktoberfest beer. Nice caramel taste and small short finish. Good but not great.

Pours a beautiful autumn rust orange. Head was minimal, but fine bubbles and persistent. Aroma is light but malty in character. Flavor is malty sweet with a spicy edge. Body is a little on the heavy side, with a slick feel to it.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: pours a sudsy 2” cream colored head that recedes slowly with moderate lacing. Color is a clear amber with moderate carbonation streaming.
Aroma: rich yeast bread malts, caramel, and some floral hop.
Mouthfeel: light bodied, crisp, with a mostly dry finish.
Flavor: caramel and toffee are dominate, with a bit of nuttiness as well. Bread dough and enough hop bite for some balance.
Overall: well done and appropriate to the style.

Pours a darker shade of amber. Aroma is dry and bready with hints of what taste like saaz hops. Flavor is more sturdy than most oktoberfest. A bit more flavor overall. Definitely solid.
