Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper color wtih a medium frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is sweet fruit with raisin and light hops. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet roasted malt with caramel and a spicy finish. A good amber ale from Widmer.

Above average Octoberfest beer. Would definitely consider this for a staple(got this in a make your own six) next to Great Lakes or Sam Adams next year.

Widmer Brothers seems to make actual lagers but has chosen to make their Octoberfest beer an ale for some reason. Let’s see how this works. It’s a nice clear amber color w/ a medium head of mixed bubbles. Overall, this is a decent malty and clean ale. The malt character is good and srong and hops serve only to balance. Sweetness is cut by a slight prickle of carbonation. Finishes rather clean w/ a lingering sweetness. You know, I’d actually believe this was a lager if you asked me.

Malty body with a sweet hop bitterness in the background. Poor lacing but attractive nonetheless.

Bottled. Thanks Patrik?
Hazy amber colour. Orangey aroma with grapes and mandarine. Not all malty, except for some Mûnchener(?), but very flavourful. Very much Märzen-like, but by American standards.

Brownish orange appearance, doesn’t hold it’s head. Mild toasty nose with some carmal notes. Malt taste, nutty and toffee flavors, nothing stands out. Some sweetness to balance the finish. Finishes with slight bitterness. Easy to drink, but nothing special. Mainstream fest beer.
