Fairly heavy on the caramel, some dried fruit and quite complex. Very nice, perhaps a bit on the sweet side.

22 oz bottle. At the Kerho, Tampere, Finland. 2012 vintage.
Clear amber colour with a tiny off-white head. Sweet sugary malty aroma. Strong maltiness indeed. Sweet malty flavour with dried fruits and some alcohol notes. Easy for a such heavy brew.

22 oz. bottle, 2013 edition. Pours a slightly murky dark amber with a one finger white head that leaves decent lace. Aroma is heavy with dark fruits, sweet caramel malt and a good dose of booze. Sweet flavor is tempered by a healthy amount of earthy hops and, again, booze. Full bodied.

It pours a dark amber with a white head that produces a fair amount of lacing. It has aromas of dried fruits, plums, caramel, and bread malts. The initial flavors are a heavy plum flavor. There are also elements of vanilla, sweet dried fruits, and a not so bitter effect on the palate. There is a bit of higher than normal carbonation.

Bottle shared with daje & edvard at The "Esp0r #2000 Weekend in The Woods" 2014
Copper, clear, thin white head. Smell of dark fruits, plums, port, malts, oak and vanilla. Heavy sweet, malts all over the place, fruits from the malts, this is really malt heaven. Moderate to medium bitter, resin finish. Very nice

Bottle 22fl.oz.

[ As Widmer Brothers Old Embalmer ].
Clear medium orange amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, sweet malt, dried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bread, dried fruit, caramel, sweet malt, alcohol notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20150410]

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber, vintage is 2012. Hazy brown with thin off white head. Strong alcohol notes, fruity, warming. The maltiness is pleasant, not overly sweet or sugary. There is still plenty of hop character to keep this interesting. I find this to be a nice barley wine.

On tap at the First St. Alehouse. It pours a dark reddish orange color with an off white head. The aroma is sweet with mixed berries, caramel and a little brown sugar. The flavor is the same with lots of fruity berries, a little mango, papaya, brown sugar and caramel. Sweet and fruity. Pretty thick on the palate as well. Kinda simple, but not bad.
