Bomber from Bevmo Valencia (Old Embalmer ’12). Nose is floral, some toffee, with hints of bubblegum and pine. Clear golden amber with a big cream colored head. Flavor is light bitterness, contrasting light sweetness, and a smattering of pine, alcohol, and peppery accents.

Bottle at James’ place for a tasting. Pours a clear light amber brown with a medium sized white head. Big bright hops on the nose, bright and full of pungent earth and citrus. Medium bodied, spicy malt and citrus, toast and warm yeast. A touch of warming alcohol, toast, malt, spicy hops. Pungent earthy bitterness into the finish. Blurs the line between IIPA and barleywine. Interesting.

Pours a dark amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is hops with a decent amount of toffee and caramel malts, some tropical fruits, kind of smells like a weak DIPA. Taste its lots of sweet caramel malt and fruity hops, reminds me of bells this one goes to 11, palate is kind of thin, needs more body to it.good but far from great.

22oz. Bottle. Winooski Beverage Wear house. Almost clear amber color with thin white head. Nose is caramel, toffee and the hops that they speak of. (Bravo). Flavor is malt forward with hops an after thought. Molasses, honey, figs, brown sugar and some citrus hops to cut the sweetness. Overall for the price it is a nice Barley Wine.

English style! Hazy darker amber color, moderate head, good lace/retention. Malt dominated aroma - syrupy thick caramel, some toffee, lightly floral hops. Full bodied, sweet, pretty nice.

Dorwart (2413) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - DEC 1, 2013
2013 vintage. Thin off-white head of fine bubbles with light carbonation. Sweet malts in the aroma with some caramel, buttescotch, a hint of orange and some vegetal aromas. Color is a dark copper. Body is a bit thin and watery with some sweet tarts, candi sugar, light caramel, toasted malts and some more butterscotch. Sort of a hot brew too with a big warming and burn on the gums. Finishes sweet and hot but quite tasty. A prett ygood barleywine but would probably be better with a few months unders its belt.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Tan medium length head recedes to hug rim. Dark caramel aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning to mild earth in the still sweet finish.
