650 ml bottle, vintage 2013, yellow label and wax, Limited Edition No. 11. ABV is 10.2%. Featuring X-431 hops. At Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Amber colour, large head, slightly off-white. Strong sweetish aroma, notes of caramelized orange marmalade, notes of molasses and some fresh oranges too, hints of oak. Rich flavour, sweet and malty as expected, but not cloying or sickening. Citrus fruit and caramel again, with distinct bittering hops in the finish and aftertaste. Warming mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

65 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Bottled on 18.07.2012.
Pours clear copper color with a medium sized head. Pine needles and caramel on the nose, sweetish fruits, resin, the hops have vanished almond completely. Sweet orange and caramel malts on the flavor, some resinous hops, quite faint on the flavor too. Very smooth and quaffable, alcohol dangerously well hidden. Tasty.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber, vintage is 2012. Hazy brown with thin off white head. Strong alcohol notes, fruity, warming. The maltiness is pleasant, not overly sweet or sugary. There is still plenty of hop character to keep this interesting. I find this to be a nice barley wine.

Deep amber color, clear, with a wispy head. Nice sweet malt aroma ruined by the alcohol, but hey, 11% is hard to mask. Some hops, but mostly sweet malt flavors, and alcohol burn. Could definately use more ageing to mellow it out a but, preferrably in a nice oak cask. Too bad they dont bottle this in a 22 so I could sock some away for a couple years.

RBSG 2004, at the brewpub: Clear orange with a average offf-white head. Caramel, toffee and brown sugar in the aroma, starts sweet and ends a bit more sweet. Full bodied with lively carbonation.

(02/20 Toronado Barleywine Festival) On draft. Very nice aroma of fresh hops. Very foamy head. Definite hop flavor. While not as huge as Bigfoot, this definately leans heavily towards the hop end of the spectrum. Body felt more like an IPA than a heavier barleywine. Garnet color. Hops still lingering on the palate even after a few minutes. Will definately cross my lips again sometime!!

Tap @ Barleywine & Big Beer Fest... [2009 Vintage] Poured amber/orange with a white head. Mild hops still on the nose with caramel malt sweetness. Pretty worty in the initial flavor. Lots of grain tones and sweetness that mixed with bread pudding and a tidbit of citrus fruit. Other dark fruits, caramel-toffee and toasted malt with a mild hoppy balance still lingering in the back.

22. Pours a crystal clear rubied medium amber with a dense and creamy tan head that sticks around, leaving deeply ringed sheets of lace. Big fresh pineapple and orange nose, very fragrantly tropical. Creamy thick body. Toast, caramel, oranges, and pineapple on the mid palate. Very pleasing to drink fresh as a DIPA. Not sure I see enough malt complexity in this to age as a BW, but they can put vintages on the label every year if they want.

Bottle 2012. Poured clear reddish brown color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark fruit, bubblegum and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex solid beer.
