3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma cioccolatoso e tostato. Gusto ricco, con note di cioccolato e un amaro discreto ma abbastanza persistente, dai remoti sentori agrumati. Non male!!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fairly dark brown with a light tannish color head. Punchy with a bit of citrus zest over toasted malt, then a smooth but hoppy punch in the finish. A bit of coffee and earthiness.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
June 3 bottle date
A: pours a coffee ground black with excellent clarity where allowed. Less than single finger off white head all but disappears to a scattered sheet of the same. Spot lace.
S: Nice and woody with pine and resin aromas. Nothing special.
T: Nice and bitter. Not very flavorful, but wood, yeast, cocoa and coffee grounds (just the grounds, no coffee). Interesting.
M: thin and bubbly with a dry finish.
O: okay beer. Last time I’m likely to drink.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe. Black with a thick off-white head and a half-hearted fizz. Pine and flowers up front then a little chocolate and a moderate bitterness. Lacked the punch and excitement of other black IPAs that I’ve tried.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Drinkstore, Dublin
Pitch black, thick off white head that dissipates, some lacing
Aroma of mellow roast, dark malts, soft zest, touch of chocolate
Taste of dark malts, soft roasted malts, soft zest, hint of floral notes, bitter dark chocolate, hint of soft coffee, quite rich dark malts in this
Palate - soft carb, medium body, smooth texture, fairly mouthcoating. Finish of smooth soft dark roast, dab of meaty roast, some bitter zest, bit dry, linger of mellow bitter roast
Overall - Good BIPA with a decent dark malt background. Would like to try this super fresh
