A pinch of black malt and a splash of roasted barley break this IPA apart from tradition, Cascadian Dark. Join the shady revolution.

Interesting mix of earthy hops and chocolate roasted malt. Almost Pitch Black with a tan bubbly head. Taste is equally as interesting, smooth malty with a good bitterness presence. Lighter bodied than expected, very smooth and finishes with a bitter residue in the mouth. I like new things and this tickles my fancy.

Not a bad beer. Signs of hops are pronounced in the aroma and flavor. A little thin up the back but decently balanced. I was looking for somehting a little more extreme I guess.

Toasted malt, herbal/resinous hops, and little breadiness. Dark almond pour with a small eggshell head. Medium mouthfeel...inexpensive and tasty!!!

Sampled in a 12 oz. Pours dark black. Doesnt have too much of an IPA taste. Pours with a lot of head and bubbles. Drinks really nice and smooth, crisp aftertaste.

Great beer with floral hoppiness and wonderful balance of toasted malts. Dark rich color and creamy head with a distinctive hop aroma. The black IPA’s are a great mix of my favorite beer flavors.

Wow pretty surprised by the quality. Pours a lighter black brown color with a tan creme colored foamy head. Notes of chocolate, fresh citrus fruits, pine, and brownie. Nice bitter bite and decent finish length. A Well made original beer.

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours very dark, but halogen burns through with ruby. A slight tan head. Very hoppy aroma. Citrus or resin or both. Medium plus body with fairly mild carbonation. Flavor is a little dark roast/toast, but there’s a lot of, call it resin and citrus, hop. Heck it even seems a little floral. It finishes bitter in a tasty fashion. With hot bits. Pretty good ale.

Delightful deep crimson in color with a nice white head. Citric hops leap forth followed by slight caramel. Nice, rich flavor, nice hoppiness balanced by slight dark malts. Enough crystal magic to keep me interested. Very full bodied. Lingering roast. This is a very nice CDA - could be a bit hoppier.

Bottle. Dark mahogony beer with a tan head. Big grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light summer fruit flavor. Medium bodied. Decent bitterness. Grapefruit and light summer fruit lingers. Very light dark malts in background, but you may not notice unless hunting for them.

(12oz bottle dated dec 09, 09) pours deep ruby brown with nice tan head. Nose of juicy citrus, toastiness and burnt caramel. Taste of light bitter grapefruit, toasty grains, caramel, and spicy hops. Finish and carbonation are cola-like and near perfect. Also very creamy. Liked quite a bit.
