3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 BBB63 (5406) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUL 12, 2012Bottle and served in Stone IRS snifter: Pours nearly opaque with with a bit with frothy tan head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of char, caramel, chocolate, oak, and aromatic malts along with some very faint raspberry and raisin. Ashy, leathery, tobacco, and earthy with some minerally component. The taste is rather paint by numbers stout, roast, toast, chocolate, and some toffee and coffee. Is it bad? Heck no, it is very satisfactory. Is it some above and beyond, Heck no. What fruitiness I get here is plummy and not Raspberry (nor Blackberry, nor Blueberry, nor much of any berry I can think of). The mouth feel is oily, smooth and atypical "AB/In-Bev corp" thinned out. A good beer but not even close to meeting my already lowered expectations. Call the boys at Leines (Miller) and ask them how to do a big brewery made but really nice Imperial Stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 monk191 (366) - California, USA - MAY 17, 2013
An interesting imperial stout. Was expecting something more unique however. Pours a thick black with a hint of purple. Smell is of chocolate covered fruit and caramel. Taste however is very coffee, like espresso. Once it opens up there is a very subtle raspberry hint, some sweetness, and some bitter finish. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kramer (3874) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small fizzy light brown head that faded to a thin film. The nose is a pretty nice mix of raspberry notes and rich dark roasted malts with some chocolate and light burnt coffee. The flavor is rather sweet with a heavily roasted thick maltiness. The raspberry remains in the background for the most part, coming out on the finish a little, mixing with a heavy and thick sweetness. It comes across as a little too burnt and slightly acrid though, making it not the most easily drinkable of beers. The alcohol is on the hotter side, especially for this ABV. I think the heavily burnt malt somehow enhances the alcohol flavors adding to the lack of drinkability. Thick and sticky with soft fizzy carbonation. It coats the mouth so heavily that the finish just lingers on forever. This one would be OK in a small dose, but a bomber of this is a bit of a chore.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mikesaum (425) - Newark, Ohio, USA - APR 19, 2013
2013 Pours black with a sliggt khaki head, leaves good lacing. Aroma is kinda weak, roasty with a bit of dark and sweet fruit, kinda vague. Taste is better, roasty taste with dark chocolate raspberry truffle notes, could use more chocolate and raspberry notes but overall its not bad, maybe it needs some age. Good but not for 12.99.

Poured from a large bottle into a small glass at a beer tasting. The beer had a viscous dark brown color with a deep rust hue and a good creamy dark tan head with good retention, and great lacing and cling. Its aroma featured dark fruits and raisin, with a presence of raspberries, and had some floral, earthy, and grainy notes, and light caramel. Its taste was sweet and malty with fruit, featuring raisin and strawberries, and some very light bitter grainyness and a touch of alcohol and sour effect. It was a wet beer with a watery body that had a smooth, creamy mouthfeel with low to average carbonation and a drier finish. Thanks for sharing, Eric.
