COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewers added fresh chopped ginger to a few select barrels of our Barrel-Aged Brrrbon ’13, an imperial version of our Brrr Seasonal Ale aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels, for this limited edition brew. The addition of ginger complements the oak, vanilla, and caramel flavors of the beer and results in a smooth winter warmer perfect for the season.

MALTS: Pale, Caramel, Carapils, Dark Chocolate
HOPS: Alchemy, Simcoe, Cascade

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a copper topped with a cream head. Nose is ginger spice and barrel. Taste is as the nose with plenty of the spice some barrels some grapefruit peel bitterness and a little soap after tast.

Golden brown with a good sized fluffy off-white head. Aroma is fresh ginger, bourbon, caramel, dates. Medium-full bodied, smooth on the palate with a reasonably sweet character, some ginger burn on the finish. Taste is ginger, honey, caramel, bourbon, dates.

On tap at Engine 15 in JAX. Very smooth, considering the ABV and the substantial dose of hot ginger. Someone got carried away with ginger, this dominates but, thankfully, does not completely mask other aspects of the ale. Most notable is medium roast malts. Ultimately, too much ginger.

Pours hazy brown color with no head or lacing, an ugly beer. Nice aroma of ginger and caramel. Tastes of ginger, caramel, alcohol, and tangerine. It’s actually a nice tasting beer. Pity it looks like Swamp water.

Pours a hazy brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of ginger and bourbon. Taste is bourbon foward with a ginger finish. Light body.

Gray waxed bomber from Whole Foods. Pours turbid cherry-wood-colored with off-white head. Nose is heavy ginger, caramel malt, hops. Tastes very gingery, very tangeriney and grapefruity, with some oak, caramel malt, and hops. The hops get buried in the oak and ginger in this one. This one would be a great saute liquid for hunan pork, but it doesn’t make a great beer. In fact, it finishes rather harsh.

(bottle - 22 oz) Cloudy copper pour with a thin white head. Big gingerbread aroma with some light bourbon and bitter hops. Flavor is ginger but a bit too much of it. Can’t really get much else besides the ginger and a touch of bourbon.

On draught for Zwickelmania 2014 during Widmer tour. Copper color. Aroma of freshly grated ginger root. Taste is of citrus hop, sweet dark malt, with an overwhelming ginger flavor.

Waxed bomber from Malt & Vine. Fabric pull tab is quite effective. Pours deeply dark copper with a yellow/beige head. Aroma is ginger with something like brown sugar. This smells so like it should be next to sushi and ginger! Very near full bodied. Flavor is ginger and dark malt, but the combination is not quite either of those. The bourbon aspects are rendered quite subtle, and the brown sugar aspects are "gingery". This is very fun stuff. There’s a burn which might be ginger! It doesn’t seem like alcohol or hop. With a little exposure there’s a dry astringent development which could be wood. Probably is. Ginger rules here (love ginger), but there’s a lot of other things. I’m really enjoying this.
