COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hidden in the beautiful dark amber color are aromas of vanilla and caramel that compliment perfectly the presence of bourbon. Soft oak flavors transition into a sweet yet slightly dry finish. After aging the ale for four months, the malt and hop complexity of Brrr has melded harmoniously with the bourbon barrels and become a truly one of a kind beer.

Aroma made me really excited about this beer but the finish is a little to dry for me. If the bourbon wasn’t there, I think this beer would be lacking some body. Chill haze seems to be a problem with this beer.

Nice dark mahogany pour with a light brown head. Vanilla with caramel and malt aromas. Flavor was muted spices from the BRRR with a smooth oak barrel finish with hints of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and a touch of leather. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber @Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Ltd. edt. #13, winter 2013. Pours a deep ruby, dark amber with a minimal head. Aroma of bourbon, smoke, vanilla, raisins, toffee, plums and oak. Flavor is bourbon, oak, vanilla, raisins, spices, malt with a tinge of alcohol. Very bourbon forward beer both in taste and aroma.

Pours a dark amber from bomber from Hopey. Definite bourbon, oak, vanilla, caramel, spice and an omnipresent sweetness that becomes cloying. Some balance/ bitterness in the finish and an attempt to balance, but falls short. Leaves a nice warm feeling on the palate- alcohol is obvious. Smooth mouthfeel. Would be better by a fire with some food to temper sweetness. More interesting than enjoyable.

650 ml bottle, Limited Edition No. 13 (Winter 2013), Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.4%. Consists apparently of 90% ale aged in bourbon barrels, and 10% ale which is not. Reddish brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Distinct aroma of bourbon whiskey, vanilla and oak, also sweetish malts. Medium sweet flavour, again distinct notes of bourbon, vanilla, oak and malts, very moderate hops. Warming mouthfeel. Very tasty beer, but it requires that you like bourbon - fortunately I do.

Vintage 2011. Lots of burbon on the nose. Tatstes of black licorice, cloves, slight bit of chocolate really drinkable. Not. Chewy as some of these beers tend to be. Costco had vintages 11-13 priced to move. Great way to do a verticals.
