COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hidden in the beautiful dark amber color are aromas of vanilla and caramel that compliment perfectly the presence of bourbon. Soft oak flavors transition into a sweet yet slightly dry finish. After aging the ale for four months, the malt and hop complexity of Brrr has melded harmoniously with the bourbon barrels and become a truly one of a kind beer.

From a 750ml bottle. Pours a transparent amber with a medium white head. Aroma has boozy and mildly fruity character. With signifiant notes of bourbon, candied fruit, and vanilla. The taste is driven by the flavor of roasty malts, green leaves, dark fruit, vanilla and bourbon. The last three primarily dominate the back end. Medium mouthfeel. Finish is somewhat earthy with a slight hop bitterness and bourbon overtoes. Very average beer. I'd drink one if offered but would not purchase again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks Tony! I totally expected an imperial stout when I started putting this into the glass. Somewhat sludgy but a nice okay, vanilla aroma. Caramel malt dominates with lots of oak barrel and vanilla. A nice beer!

Bottled at Hophead. Light brown colour. Sweet vanilla aroma with alcohol notes. Similar taste with additional maltyness and some neutral hop bitterness. Intensive enough aftertaste.

Amber with off white head - Malts in the aroma with some wood - Raw wood and some vanilla flavours - Wood goes into the finish - This was too much woody flavour to be good, a little bit disapointed over this one

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 22 oz bomber - Fire Sale at $3.99. slightly murky medium orange pour, thinnish off-white head. Aroma has a solid bourbon presence, some date-like fruitiness and a touch of molasses. Flavor follows along the the same profile, nice bourbon accents, brown sugar, molasses. Nice sticky mouthfeel. Not overwrought like some Bourbon BA beers tend to be.

It was a good bourbon barrel. Not the best. The light flavor made it best. Sometimes a bourbon is done just for the hell of it. This had substance. The beer itself was quality. Of course hubby hated it. I thought he might like it since the bourbon was light...I was wrong.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber, thanks to Mike H. Big aromatic bourbon nose, malty, vanilla, coconut. The bourbon barrel aging gives this beer a nail polish, hot alcohol character.

Poured a dark amber to brown colour with a thin white head. Aroma is of caramel, wood, dark fruits and of course, bourbon. Taste is bready/ caramel malts, bourbon, vanilla, and dark fruits. Medium-full bodied with a present carbonation ending in a heavy warming bitter bourbon finish. Enjoyable cold. Better when warmed up.

This was the ’12. Pours a light golden amber with a thin layer of beige bubbles. The aroma is rich with barrel and wooden notes as well as mild fruity and hop notes. The aroma is rather nice after the beer warms a bit. Light toffee and candy caramel malts with apple and green grape fruit notes. The finish is heavy and warming with light bitterness and lingering barrel esque notes. Nice brew.

2013 on draft at the Pig. Pours a moderate hazy brown-orange with small head. Some mild lace. Aroma is certainly bourbon and oak barrel, dark fruits, malts. bread, sweet roll. The taste was much more muted than expected which was disappointing. Bourbon barrel, bread, malts, leather, vanilla, and light caramel. Lighter body than desired for the style. Low carb.

Pours copper with a finger of light beige head. Aroma is broiled orange and grapefruit, oak, toast, caramel. Taste is bourbon/wood, med-high bitterness, citrus, toast/bready malt. Resinous, tongue-coating bitterness, oily. Nice full carbonation, med-full body. Like a double IPA with oaky bourbon flavors added. I was hoping for something a little darker and more complex.
