Hidden in the beautiful dark amber color are aromas of vanilla and caramel that compliment perfectly the presence of bourbon. Soft oak flavors transition into a sweet yet slightly dry finish. After aging the ale for four months, the malt and hop complexity of Brrr has melded harmoniously with the bourbon barrels and become a truly one of a kind beer.

Thanks Mario for hosting your Winter Panel and including this one. Promising smooth bourbon aroma from this brassy pour. Tastes like a decent bourbon on the rocks after the ice melts, without other discernable beer character.

22 oz bottle shared by Gustav. The pour is a thin caramel tinted amber with a thick bubbly egg shell colored collar. The aroma is pretty decent. There is a sweet malt and a string hop. Light vanilla and bourbon are present. There is a hint of metallic on the back end. The flavor is interesting. There is a big malt and some light hops. It’s like a subdued Bigfoot. I like it. The hops are toned down and the sweetness comes through a little more. The mouth feel is lighter and well carbonated. The aftertaste is all sweet malt, bourbon, and a hint of vanilla and oak. Interesting brew

Bottle shared with koleminer20 and Gus. 2013 vintage. Aroma is caramel, toffee, bourbon, barrel, hops. Appearance is dark red, copper brown, light tan head. Taste is very subtle. Some caramel, toffee, some earthy hops, some booze, mostly intensely subtle. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, some booze and caramel in the aftertaste. Overall, I’d say this is past it’s prime. Good, but not great.

2011 vintage I had this one last year and was amazing another year in the cellar didn’t help. Looks like it peaked at 4 years. Pours out a amber topped with a sand head. nose is caramel vanilla light bourbon barrel notes. Taste is starting to feel age a little cardboard but still with the sweet caramel malt and bourbon.

2011 vintage provided by buckeyeboy... Cool to see one of these again.. Thanks Jeremy!! pretty thin ... lite caramel and bunches of a mash-up of odd wood/whiskey/ and bits of dried fruit.. 9.4% isn’t readily available, but the overall brew is thin like a bigger amber that has some obvious barrel work... caramel and minor pick-up toasty malts.. I wish the hops had any play at all... really.. I wish anything with depth played ball tonight.... just nothing except the EtOH to really write home about.
