Black with a brown head. The aroma is full of light smoke with some big chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is more of the same. The heavily roasted and some light ash come through up front, with the dry chocolate notes coming through more as it warms. The alcohol is well hidden. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Heavy aromas of chocolate, smoke, cocoa nibs and fudge. Solid black with a thin tan foam and nice lacing. Flavors of chocolate, thick molasses, dark roasted grains and some faint mocha notes. Finish is extremely boozy and slick. Overall, the flavor seems to be a little unbalanced and the alcohol burn is pretty unsettling. Not terrible but could use a few tweaks.

Strong, smoky aroma has a surprising woody hop component, as well as a chocolate undertone and hints of licorice and molasses. Pours a luscious black-coffee brown with a very thick dark tan head. Rich, mouth-filling flavor delights with a roast malt core, sweet chocolate overtone, and a fine chord of nutty, woody, licorice, coffee and earthy notes. Texture has good fizz and viscosity, though seems on the thin side for a stout. Whatever, a stout fit for a noble, maybe even a Czar.

Draft. Nice cocoa aroma, as it warms a very chocolate-forward stout. A bit htin. Its decent.

Thanks to my wife for the random buy with this one. Aroma is roast, chocolate, cocoa powder, grass. Pour is nice with a solid black body and a tan head. Flavor is chocolate, roast, ash, grass, rain, and light vanilla. Not bad at all.

Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and carmel. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, carmel, roasted malt and a hint of vanilla with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, chalk, wood and roasted malt. Flavour is quite chalky, with dark chocolate, wood, burnt notes and a tinge of metallic quality. Quite chalky on the palate, with a high viscosity. The chocolate comes through quite pronounced, with a dry bitterness. Some rough edges, but it drinks well enough. Decent.

Not as strong as other Imperial Stouts, but a bold flavor. Dark pour, lots of flavor. Dry aftertaste.
