Bomber. Pours a jet black color with a medium beige head. A nice smoky, sweet chocolate nose. Lovely flavor: big cocoa, dry dark fruit, smoke, big bitter chocolates. Very nice, a bit oily. Great.

22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown / black color with a smaller sized off white head. Roast, chocolate, some dark fruits, and licorice.

Bottle... Pours black with a tiny, flimsy, lightly-tanned head. The nose offers components of mocha and toasted nuts. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with subdued carbonation. The flavor is carbonic, acrid, burnt and bitter. Big-time charcoal. Even at (south Florida in the summertime) room temperature, there is nearly zero sweetness. Scorched, acrid, semi-dry finish.

Big cocoa nibs aroma with roasty coffee as a support. Taste follows suit with a bitter finish. This is not a very complex impy despite the brewery’s description - pretty straightforward cocoa, slight coffee, and bitter profile with little else going on. One other thing is I hardly notice the alcohol until the aftertaste when a slight burn hits. One of the lightest impies I’ve had, all things considered. While certainly not bad, it’s best as an introductory example of the style. I could see this going best with a small bit of chocolate cake after a fish meal.

Bottle @ a recent bottle share... Poured deep, black with an off-white head. Always loved KGB so adding a touch of chocolate can’t go wrong. Nice barley grains and roast with mocha, dark chocolate, flourless chocolate cake, and subtly alcohol warmth. Enjoyed this quite a bit.

Bomber - thanks Lou! Very dark pour and pretty dense. Beige head. Lots of cocoa in this. Smooth full mouthfeel. Very tasty.

Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, and cocoa. Flavor is bitter roasted malt character upfront with subtle notes of cocoa in the background but the chocolate character is no where near the centerpiece of this beer. Finish is bitter roasted character with so slight hops. Just wasn’t what I was expecting really. Not bad, but I wouldn’t buy another bottle.

Dark brown/black color; Medium to heavy slightly creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, dark chocolate, & coffee; Flavor of roasted malt, caramel, hops, dark chocolate, coffee, and some licorice; Finish is slightly bitter; Nicely balanced; Not a big imp stout - but no complaints.

Classic chocolate, coffee bean, sweet smell, motor oil darkness, great coffee/bitter chocolate taste, the bitterness hangs around. ABV is just the right amount. You do get that warmy, boozy feeling in the throat, even though its just 9.3%. Good stout.

From a bottle poured a dark brown color with a fair amount of head. Nice light sweet toasted malty flavor with a lingering finish.
