COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited Release #4. Spring 2011. Ale brew with huskless malt and Belgian candy sugar. Galaxy Hopped Barleywine is a new take on an old favorite. This beer pours a dark crimson, almost mahogany color. The yeast & galaxy hops deliver a big bang of red and yellow fruit aromatics like banana, pineapple, cherry, and strawberry. The experience begins with a taste of toffee and darkened sweet caramel overlaid on subtle tones of vanilla. All to be punctuated by the floral and citrus dry hop character.

Christmas tasting at the Kernel. Canít remember who brought this because I was a bit trollied - but Cheers. Took awhile to catch up with this one. Hazy amber beer, little off white head. Light dry palate. Creamy caramel malt , sweetish. Lovely Galaxy hops. Sweet piney tropical fruits with pineapple and mango. Very nice!

On tap at Intíl Great Beer Festival. Aroma of bread, fruit, standard for a BW. The appearance is deep amber, white head. The flavor is like the aroma, very sweet, The finish is sweet, with resiny hops. Medium/thick in body, oily mouthfeel. Good.

12/2/11. 22oz bottle courtesy stevencon! Perfumey aroma of flowers, hops, brown sugar, a slight touch of dark fruits. Sweet entry of brown sugar, dark fruits, and flowers at first, but it transitions to bitterness and a bit of papery cardboard. Not bad, actually, but I donít love it.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2011 Big fruits and malty caramel on the nose followed by toffee and piney hops. Appearance is a massive dark shade of brown with a small foam head. Taste is a thick malty caramel with a pleasant leafy hop bitterness on the finish. Its a nice sweet, crisp full-flavored beer. There is a subtle hint of fruitiness in the background. Overall, this beer is full of well balanced flavors. With a pleasantly thick taste on the palate followed by a refreshing hop bitterness. Iíd give this an A+ rating.

Let it warm up a bit and youíll have a thick, sweet, fruity, and hoppy nectar. Very complex and nicely boozy. Finally impressed with Widmer.

Pours a dark hazy brown colour with a short white head. The aroma is wicked, burnt sugar, molasses, dark chocolate, pine, itís really good. The flavour is candied fruit, chocolate, orange rind, bitter hop finish. The mouth feel is slick. All and all very enjoyable but I kind of wish Iíd let it age a little longer.
