COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Limited Release #4. Spring 2011. Ale brew with huskless malt and Belgian candy sugar. Galaxy Hopped Barleywine is a new take on an old favorite. This beer pours a dark crimson, almost mahogany color. The yeast & galaxy hops deliver a big bang of red and yellow fruit aromatics like banana, pineapple, cherry, and strawberry. The experience begins with a taste of toffee and darkened sweet caramel overlaid on subtle tones of vanilla. All to be punctuated by the floral and citrus dry hop character.

Pours clear, dark orange-tinged amber, Off-white head quickly recedes to mottle surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Sweet caramel and hot resin upfront turning to a last pine finish.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pors cloudy copper with a modest off-white head and a fruity aroma. There is a dry bitter toffee flavor with a burnt candi sugar finish. This is certainly not a typical barleywine as it has very little sweetness, but there is an interesting blend of tastes.

Bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity hops and malts, some currants, pine. The flavor is a rich BW: sweet robust hops, pine and some toffee, lingering bitterness, vanilla, sweet and bitter. Very nice.

Cedar aroma with light cherry and caramel notes. Clear chestnut, medium yellow head. Flavor is as woody as the aroma, if not more. Grapefruit peel also present. Alcohol noticeable. NIcely done, very approachable.

Looks nice; smells strongly of molasses and malts. This is a pretty decent beer. Some sweetness but not too much. Not all thick or sugary; quite nice. Just a tad pricey.

Bottle. Dark copper. Iím not picking up a lot of aroma. Nice dry hopped flavour. Woody with a hint of spruce. Like a very dry IIPA.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy spicy caramel aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter dark fruit and caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter caramel and dark fruit finish.

Sampled at SIB. Pours mahogany with a small creamy head. Aroma of citrus hops, and sour tropical fruits. Flavour is very hop heavy, citrus, tropical fruits, backed with caramel sweetness. More like an IPA - which suits me down to the ground. Really nice.

dark orangish copper body on the pour with a 4-6mm orangish head and good lacing. aroma is like citrus candy. taste is similar, rather light and thin body for the style, but it works really well imho, lets the hops shine and makes it very drinkable. very good highly hopped bw. lovin it.

Sampled on tap at SIB, pours dark amber / maroon with a beige head. Aroma of citrus hops, sour tropical fruits and caramel. Intensely hoppy flavour for barley wine (almost a sweet Imperial IPA), citrus hops, and sour tropical fruits further back. Nice depth, but I donít think the hops mesh extraordinary well. Nevertheless, enjoyable.
