3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy light amber-brown, light sugary nose, some big molasses taste, with barrelly notes. Rich, lingering complex molasses character, the alcohol just enough to cut through this. Tasty.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours pretty dark brown with a 1/4 inch beige head. Lots of rum and treacle in the aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is massively treacle with rum and some citrus and arguably pear. It burns slightly. I’m thinking this massively flavorful ale will age well. Brilliant concoction.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy wood, dark sugar & toasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were exceeded.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle… Clear brown ale with flashes of burnt orange and a small, creamy, white head. The nose offers a strange marriage of fruitcake, toffee, cotton candy and crusted port. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor is sweet and port-like with a caramel component and some harsh, boozy notes. Finishes alcoholic and sweet. Strange for a brown ale. Quite interesting for a beer.
