3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on 12/3/2011. This wheat beer pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing. The aroma is cereal, Muscat grapes, fruit and sweet. A light to medium bodied wheat beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, with lots of Muscat grape flavor, there is a hint of lemongrass at the finish. The hops are herbal and earthy. Light carbonation. Interesting blend of flavors. I like the way the Muscat grapes mix and blend with the wheat/malts and the lemongrass. A touch of grape tannins at the finish. Overall it a touch sweet but it works. Hides the 9% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Quite an interesting wheat ale! I’m digging the combination of lemongrass and muscat grape juice in this brew. Tart and tangy; I have visions of various seafood dishes running through my mind right now!! Don’t ask for recommendations; just buy a bunch of bottles of this brew and come on over for a feast! This is a brew truly made to pair up with some succulent food; by itself it is good but just needs something to go along with it.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from the Folsom BevMo. Pours hazy orange tinged gold with very little head. Grapey/grassy/floral aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is sort of gluey what with grape and grass. Quite unusual. It’s not hugely bitter, but much more so than sweet. This is either very simple or very complex.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Whole Foods Alexandria. Pours orange with a white head that dissipates to nothing. Aroma of wheat malts and white wine. Medium bodied with a slight syrupy texture. Flavor of pale wheat malts with moderate notes of chardonnay and lemon grass. Tamed herbal bitterness. Not bad, but I would love to get more lemongrass, and perhaps less body and more dryness.
