2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
650 ml. bottle. Pours an almost non existent fizzy, head, over a clear dark gold (SRM 6) body....nose is cinnamon, apple, lemon peel, grape, cheap perfume....taste is sweet sugar, grape, lemon, light cinnamon, finishing with a light soapy perfume....mouth feel thick, sticky, alcohol hidden, carbonation low. This is a very different brew. It is partly apple cider, partly sweet soda, with a touch of Grandma’s perfume, and almost makes it to a real beer qualia. But the very heavy sticky, grape/sugar dominates completely. It is an interesting experiment that really didn’t work for me and is reminiscent of some of Brewdogs experiments with I/DIPA’s aged in a Scotch barrel. But if they don’t try, they can’t get to real brilliance. BJCP 6/3/10/4/6

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with off white head. Aromas of wheat, citrus, grapes and sugar. Cloyingly sweet sugary flavor dominates. Faint wheat flavor with some grape juice and lemon. Full body with soft carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Not light and refreshing like a typical wheat beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled at Cajun Cafe’s 2011 Fall Beer Festival. Pours a mostly clear yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is lemony on the surface with some light grape notes under it and some sweet malt behind. Flavor is lemony at first followed by some mild sweetness and the light wheat behind. Interesting, the body is a bit thick for a wheat ale, but then it is a 9% wheat ale on top of that.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Orangish straw, fairly hazy, thin sudsy white head, dies quickly, leaves little lacing.   Pale wheaty nose, very slight white grape juice, lemony, but moreso a non-descript citrusy aroma.   As it warms the white grape juice becomes more pronounced.   Interesting nose.   Strong sweet grassiness on the tongue, a bit lemony, again with the white grape juice.   Warming, but not alcoholic.   Wheatiness is minor.   Had I had this blind, I wouldnt know what to make of it... probably a spiced like beer.   Yeah, more of a spiced beverage than a Wheat Ale.   Needs some more body, wheatiness.   Its okay, hides the 9% ABV very well.   However, not something I would probably go after again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Limited Release #5 Fall 2011. Pours orange-amber with a short, fizzy white head. Aroma is citrusy and herbal while retaining and pleasant sweetness along with soft grains. Taste is more on the sweet side with sweet malt, citrus, candied fruit (lemon drops), lemongrass, grains, herbal notes and soft alcohol. Body medium with a thin, creamy carbonation and slight warmth from the alcohol. Ends with more candied fruit (lemon drops), lemongrass, sweet malt, grains and alcohol. Deceivingly tasty for a 9% ABV beer. This is an easy drinker!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Limited Release #5, Fall 2011. Bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours hazy gold with a medium off-white head that falls into a skiff of foam after a minute; beer looks completely flat 3/4 of the way through the first glass. Aroma is peppery, lemony. The muscat comes through faintly. Taste is bittersweet with a dry bitter finish. Mouthfeel is syrupy, like grape juice is. The beer reminds me of Stone’s last Vertical Epic, which also was brewed with Muscat. Not as good as that one, but still pretty good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle- Pours slightly hazy golden with a thin head that reduces quickly to a thin blanket and ring. Aroma is wheat, very citrusy lemon, fresh and clean. The flavor is wheat, alcohol burn, lemongrass (does lemongrass taste like a cross between lemons and grass?), and I definitely taste the muscat grapes, very interesting and unique, it is a cross between tart and creamy. I have only had one other beer that used wine grapes like this, and that was the vertical 10 from Stone, I think that was better, but this is pretty damn good as well.
