Fruity apple bubble gum aroma. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Sweet sharp beginning with a light floral bitter finish.

Pale. A vinous, tart nose. Very wine-y, the lemongrass plays a surprisingly small part. Relaxed carbonation. Itís like a sweet wine but with an uplifting tang in the finish. Lighly oily and with a great belly-warmth. A little sweet and a little sickly in a bile kinda way. Probably the most wine-like beer I have ever had.

Bomber. Limited Release #5, Fall 2011. Bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours hazy gold with a medium off-white head that falls into a skiff of foam after a minute; beer looks completely flat 3/4 of the way through the first glass. Aroma is peppery, lemony. The muscat comes through faintly. Taste is bittersweet with a dry bitter finish. Mouthfeel is syrupy, like grape juice is. The beer reminds me of Stoneís last Vertical Epic, which also was brewed with Muscat. Not as good as that one, but still pretty good.

22 oz. bottle- Pours slightly hazy golden with a thin head that reduces quickly to a thin blanket and ring. Aroma is wheat, very citrusy lemon, fresh and clean. The flavor is wheat, alcohol burn, lemongrass (does lemongrass taste like a cross between lemons and grass?), and I definitely taste the muscat grapes, very interesting and unique, it is a cross between tart and creamy. I have only had one other beer that used wine grapes like this, and that was the vertical 10 from Stone, I think that was better, but this is pretty damn good as well.

I liked this beer for what it was - a solid wheat ale. However, the malt character and high alcohol content washed away the delicate fruity qualities of such a beer. While chilled it was great, and tasted great with hints of lemon, yeast and light hops. The aroma followed the same pattern, but was almost acidic and suggested a sour flavor. The only beer Iíve had where alcohol has killed it.

Nephilium (1260) - Ohio, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Slightly sweet aroma, with a hint of lemons and grapes. Pours a hazy amber, with a quickly fading white head. Really strong lemon flavor, almost overpowering. with just a hint of grapes in the end. Light on the palate, with a long finish of tart lemons. This beer comes across more like a lemonaid/beer mixture then a straight beer. Itís drinkable, but only if you really like lemons.

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with a small fizzy white head that quickly goes to a dusting.

The aroma is sweet citric wheaty malts, honey and grapes.

The flavor is bready malts, sweet grape juice and honey with some musty yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and a bit watery with some slight spritzy carbonation.

Overall, itís OK - overly sweet.

Bottle from Halls Liquors. Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. The aromas are lemongrass, white grape juice. The mouthfeel is slightly dry and bready with a medium body and light carbonation. Cheers!

Dark yellow, not much head or carbonation. Aroma has a light of citrus leading into some sweet citrus flavors in the drink - almost a creamy caramel behind it all. Not big on this one - and Iíve had lemongrass beers that Iíve enjoyed.
