COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our braggot is a strong ale brewed with a blend of honey, red prickly pear juice, and a variety of pale malts. The addition of Alchemy hops help balance the sweetness while still retaining the natural honey aromas and flavors. The prickly pear juice adds a unique hue to the beer as well as a subtle herbal, quenching-like quality in the finish.

growler. Clear golden mead. Sweet nose. Taste is just too fucking sweet for me, blah. Yea the fruit juice addition was original (props, who else is fucking w/ cactus juice?) but still lacked drinkability. I only bought it b/c I’d never had a "braggot" before... hmmm, maybe see: mead?

Bomber. Poured a light amber with a cream top. I tasted alcohol, honey, citrus, light fruits. Good carbonation. Meh...

The smell is honey, weak, not much. The look is clear, has a white colored head. The taste is sweet, ok fruits, and honey.

Strong fruity aroma. Does not smell like beer. Pours with no head at all. Has what appears to be a chill haze. Certainly can taste the honey and fruit making this a very unique beer. However, it seems to be lacking in body.

2012.07.16 - 22oz bottle in snifter. Bottle marked MAR1110. Limited Release #2 Spring 2010. Pours mildly orange to light amber. Little to no head or carbonation. Nose is sweet, almost similar to ( or implies ) a barley wine or something like Raison D'Extra but much reduced. Taste is quite pleasant and surprising. The 10% abv is almost undetectable, just barely showing up in the back end as the taste fades. This is going down like a fruit drink. Taste is hard to describe but certainly seems like an interesting balance of pear and honey. Very drinkable, perhaps dangerously so for 10% abv.

Sampled at the at 18th Richmond gathering. Clear light yellow pour with almost no ring of head. Sweet honey aroma, kinda like a wheat wine. Sweet and fruity, I guess like pear. Kinda bland and sugary. I’m not a fan of the braggot style, so I think it’s about meh for me personally.

(2010 Vintage) This has a big sweet honey nose, with a hint of fruit in it. It pours a clear pale orange, with visible carbonation and no head. This mead has a slick mouthfeel, and an interesting flavor. There’s a nice honey note, with a bit of a medicinal note to it. It doesn’t have the heavy sweetness of quite a few meads. I’m not quite sure how to describe it... if you want to try something out of the ordinary, this would be something to try.

Copper/gold pour with watery white head and lace. Aroma of sour malt, honey, and paper. Honey, sweet finish, with a sour fruit finish, and abv. Medium bodied. An ok mead.

It’s really sweet, and juicy, and not at all what I want out of my beer, but it doesn’t taste horrible. Experiments sometimes go wrong but still have a virtue.
