3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(22oz bomber thanks to blutt59) espresso-ruby clear brown, creamy dark tan head. Nose of raspberry, chocolate, cream, light graham cracker. Taste of rich milk chocolate, really no raspberry in the taste, rye/bitter citrus, creamy body and a nice rich milk chocolate linger. Medium to thick body, I actually think it’s pretty nice for Widmer. Raspberry finally starts to come out in the finish.

Aroma and appearance beautiful. Taste good but forgettable. Raspberry subtle. Purchased at Brewforia, WAY overpriced.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
1/19/13. 22oz bottle from Grassroots Natural Market. Black pour with a nice tan head that fades to a ring and barely laces. Fruity aroma with a good dose of alcohol, roasted malts, and a touch of dark chocolate. Rich, sweet flavor, again with a dose of alcohol. The raspberry is there, but not prevalent, and masked by the overdose of roasted malts, acidity, etc. Eh. I was going to post ratings of my "blend" mixing the chocolate and the raspberry, but after tasting them both, I see no point.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from South Lyndale Liquors (Minneapolis, Minnesota, 23/11/12)
Nose is chocolate, sweet fruit, roasted malt, and some vanilla. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a medium tan head. Taste is moderately sweet and slightly tart. Full bodied, thick texture, and an average carbonation. Really good. Raspberries and stouts make for a good pairing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black with thin layer of tan foam. Very feint aroma of red fruit and toasted malt. Very subtle raspberry flavor with a heavy and sweet caramel and cola malty profiles. Layer of espresso at the finish

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
~Musty earthy hop aroma with bready roasty malts and light raspberry.
~Pours black with thick creamy lasting brown head.
~Charred bitter woody flavor followed by quick raspberry flavor.
~Full bodied, med CO2, bitter roasty finish.
~Too much roast on this one. Raspberry is hardly detectable. Still an enjoyable RIS, but won’t buy again.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
High alcohol burn, hoppy, sweet. Touch of raspberry which aroma wise gets obliterated by the strong hops.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2012 Beautiful head. Dark Brown, not entirely black. Complex flavors. Raspberry is present but not over powering. Sweet yet has the bitterness expected in a stout. I give it a 3.6 but there is error with my app.

I thought this one was damn good. Lots of chocolate and and roast with a good mouthfeel and easy to drink. I love raspberries, there was a good presence, but not too much. Overall very good beer, with a unique twist.

Bottle at a Chriso tasting, London. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Subtle chocolate and raspberry in the aroma. Big sweet flavor with moderate roast, dirt, nice chocolate-coated raspberries. Full in body with average carbonation. Good, chocolatey finish with nice raspberry integration, moderate earthy hops, some dirt. Good balance. I like it.
