COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An extremely rich and complex beer. The addition of raspberries during the fermentation process results in an almost purplish opaque color with a beautiful brown head. Warm chocolate and roasty notes compliment the hop bitterness.

High alcohol burn, hoppy, sweet. Touch of raspberry which aroma wise gets obliterated by the strong hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a purple-hued black body with a large creamy light beige head. Nose is chocolate, raspberries, leather, cocoa, coffee and hints of vanilla, alcohol, toffee, caramel and nuts. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, raspberry, caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, burnt sugar and hints of alcohol, licorice and toffee. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Lovely imperial stout with just the right amount of raspberries. Smooth.

Bomber, 2012 vintage, shared by ctomson. Thanks buddy! Roasted malt aroma with chocolate notes and a bit of raspberry sweetness. Pours black with a thin light brown head and no lacing. Starts with a rich roasted malt flavor. Finishes smooth with chocolatey flavors and raspberry notes coming through at the very end. Good, flavorful stout.

A nice stout with a smooth pour. Decent barrel stout. A mild sweetness from the raspberries but no raspberry flavor. A light foamy head with a small coffee flavor to it.

Bottle @ home, thanks to the rotbox for saving this one for 2+ years. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Some oxidation, lots of dark chocolate, roasted malts, light smoke, and some fruits/berries in the nose. Kind of thin body. Lightly sweet. Weird berry flavor. Chocolate, coffee, and oak in the mouth. Ehhh.

"Not really a surprise, but as good as I was hoping it was. One of my favorite brews from Widmer. Kinda steep on the price, but worth it once or twice. This is what Lost Coast Raspberry Brown (a gateway beer) would taste like if you replace "brown" with "imperial stout". The raspberry aroma and flavor are at the same level, pleasantly obvious, but more on the back end and not taking away from the beer at all. Adding to it if anything. Nice bitter chocolate and slightly hoppy stout. Very flavorful and aromatic. "

From notes. Tasted on 6/30/12 at the 1st Annual Chimipalooza, from bottle. Pours nearly opaque dark auburn with an average tan head that leaves a nice collar of lace. The nose is all dark chocolate and darkly roasted coffee. The flavor is very dry dark chocolate and coffee with an added fresh raspberry note. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long bitter coffee and raspberry finish.

Tap at JL Beers in Fargo. Very dark pour with a clingy light beige head. Heavy roasty, chocolate cake batter is quite a good description, and I get just a hint of tart/sweet that I wouldn’t necessarily pick out as raspberry. Very good nonetheless.

Chocolate cake batter, sweet creosote aroma with faint fishy notes. ’13 vintage. Good bomber, good label, oily coffee pour, darkish khaki head. Lots of bittersweet chocolate, cookie dough, boozy. I don’t get raspberry in this. Coffee roast. Medium heavy body. Mouthy. Roasty cocoa powder finish. Warming. Sturdy, not spectacular. New Leaf Market.

Svart farge med tynt brunt skum. Lukter, kaffe, sjokolade og bær. Smaker også godt kaffe og føles som å drikke fløte i munnfølelse. Fin balansert avslutning med noe alkoholvarme.
