Using rich Mexican chocolate nibs, cinnamon, toasted pecans, and green chilies, this brew will feature decadent chocolate notes with a subtle spice character to pique the taste buds. A complex blend of traditional southwest flavors brought to you by way of the Northwest.

Hints of roasted cacao nibs. Brown with a vanishing head. A touch of sweet malt and mild spice. A little twinge of heat in the gullet. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark amber pour with an off-white head. Excellent dark chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel malt sweetness. A hint of toasted nuts, some very faint chili notes, and a nice roasted malt aroma. The flavor has a slight spice of chili to it, but otherwise good chocolate, coffee, and nuts. Toasted malt, caramel, and a light roast character. Good balance of sweetness and roast.

2012.12.15 - on tap Always Ron's in small tulip glass. Pours dark brown, moderate head. Aroma bland. Taste is smooth foamy head followed by roasted flavor followed by a bit if alcohol burn. It actually burned me lips a mild bit. There's some sweetness in there but not a lot. Kind of like a watery high alcohol stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft to snifter. Clear brown pour with a thin offwhite head. Aroma of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, a little black pepper. Tastes like a coffee stout to start, then gets a little spicy, both cinnamon and pepper. Definitely get the ABV kick at the end. Pretty viscous mouthfeel. Would definitely seek this out again, really interesting beer.

Tap at Oskar Blues HMLS. Clear dark ruby/brown with a thin beige head. Heavy malty aroma with earthy caramel, honey, and a little molasses and cocoa. Taste is smooth and full with some dark earthy maltiness, caramel, hay, light cocoa, some light raisin, and very gentle roastiness.

650 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, short lived light beige head, over a clear reddish brown (SRM 18) body.....nose is pecan, hints of cocoa, chocolate.....taste is cocoa, chocolate to start, hints of toffee/caramel sweetness, leading to light lingering chile heat, with tones of cinnamon, and umami, ....mouth feel medium, sticky, slight alcohol warmth present, carbonation low. This is an interesting conglomeration of ingredients. The pecans are the most dominant of the additions, adding to both aroma and flavors. The cocoa nibs (they arenít yet chocolate) come through in a pleasant way. The chile and cinnamon were used with a light hand, so they are in background rather than dominating in the front. All in all, this is an interesting experiment. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Tap. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted sweet chocolate malt, nuts and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet & hot flavor with a medium hot & sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where exceeded.
