Using rich Mexican chocolate nibs, cinnamon, toasted pecans, and green chilies, this brew will feature decadent chocolate notes with a subtle spice character to pique the taste buds. A complex blend of traditional southwest flavors brought to you by way of the Northwest.

Bottle and served in a tulip glass: Pours a deep brown with a small fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of java mocha coffee, pecans and walnuts, light pepper chili and cinnamon bun, some tar and leather, with a bit of roast and caramel malts. The taste is mostly sweet chocolate and vanilla with some roast support by a light handed chili spice edge. The spice components is just a step away from being what I want but at least you can find it unlike some peppers beers I have had (here is looking at you Stone). Lush and oily medium body works well with the flavors. Overall, a nice brew I would drink again if giving the chance but not sure if I would actually spend money for it when NB Moly and Ska Moly are still on the shelves.

Bottle:   Deep brown, nearly black, thin dirty off-white head, sudsy, little lacing.   Spicy nose of candied nuts, cocoa, sweet peppers, and cinnamon.   Smells very entertaining!   Very much a spicy chocolate type of brew on the tongue, some pepper (minus the heat) with some cinnamon spiciness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Very unique, and like it says, south meets northwest.   Peppery but not hot, along with the chocolate and cinnamon make for a very different and entertaining beer.

Draft at elliott bay pizza. Pours a clear and very dark amber with a dense and creamy tan head. Sweet caramel and toffee nose with some cherry tobacco notes. Creamy medium body with some soft carb. Tobacco, caramel, and toffee mid palate with a lingering brown bread finish.

Pours a deep, rich mahogany with a nose of nutty chocolate and cocoa dust with notes of light pecan and coffee. Flavor is fudgy chocolate, light pepper with cinammon dusting, and a touch of coffee-flavored caramel toffee. Thick mouthfeel. This is a good beer; a very good beer.

Bomber to oversized snifter (shared with the wife; thanks daknole). Looks sold; a dull brownish-black with beige lacing. Smells solid; malt and cocoa. Tastes the same with an average mouthfeel. Not bad.

Tallahassee, Fl - Proof Brewing Company - on tap. Dark brown pour, off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma of licorice and chocolate. Flavor has a nutty profile to it with some chocolate accents and a touch of biscotti-like maltiness. Nice sticky mouthfeel. Pretty solid.

Strong aroma has a malty core and notes of - each whiff seems different. I get cocoa, cinnamon, nuts, and even hints of chili peppers and caramel. Gets the old salivary glands in action. Pours a barely translucent chocolate brown with a good light tan head that doesn’t stick around too long. Flavor has malty, chocolaty, nutty, sweet syrupy, and earthy tones, plus a sharp chili pepper note. I like hot foods in the right circumstances, but I really don’t care for hot pepper in my beer. However, it is subtle enough that it doesn’t detract much from the rest of the taste. I get a firm undercurrent of hoppy bitterness as well. Texture is smooth, syrupy, and not too tingly, though the pepper provides a little "pins and needles" feeling. Overall, distinctive, delicious, interesting.

Nice boxed bomber from Capone’s, from the boxed reserve series. Pours translucent chestnut color with minimal khaki head. Nose is roasty patent/choc malt, nuts, cacao. Tastes malty, nutty, pretty rich, not hoppy but with a patent malt flavor up front, mid-palate cacao, nuts, more peppery heat as it warms, and a complex finish. This one was unique.

A - Pours a dark black color with a bit of brown mixed in and a finger of frothy khaki colored head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing. S - Aroma is dark caramel malts, with some dark fruit, cocoa, cinnamon, clove, and other spices, pecans, chilies, a bit of coffee and some booze. T - Starts off with a mix of dark caramel malts, dark fruit, cinnamon, other spices, and a bit of chili heat. Through the middle, the pecans come through with some cocoa, more spices, and some coffee. The finish is a mix of dark caramel malts, spices, pecans, cocoa, chilies, dark fruit, and a bit of booze. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet, warming, and lightly spicy finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice overall balance and complexity. The pecans, spices, and cocoa are a nice touch.
