Aroma is cocoa with hints of spices and pepper. Malt is clearly dark chocolate with hints of roastiness. Appearance is Jet Black black, black, black, black, cloudy, frothy, Its got a stout appearance but taste of a dark ale. Taste is unique: Strong pepper brought on by the chilis coupled with chocolate. Can not taste the pecans but there is limited hoppiness its mostly a malty ale so really limited to no bitterness. Palate: This is a full bodied beer with some alcohol undertones and a long chocolate finish. I really have enjoyed this beer and this was the first time I have tried it on tap. Normally able to find it in 22% Bottle (Nicely boxed).

Amazing beer that has given me something different each time I’ve had it. Love the flavor from the toasted pecans and heat from the green chillis. A must have...

Smells amazing upon opening chocolates and brown sugar spices and booze, lovely. Not sure if I tasted heat, chili was more of hint. extra points for being creative in a tasty way.

Pleasantly surprised. Strong cocoa nose, subtle nutty and spice notes. Dark chestnut color, thicker than I was expecting in appearance. Taste bursting with bittersweet chocolate and spice with a palatable sweetness and a lingering booziness. Body is well rounded, nearly full. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this distinctive beer.

This beer is rich and complex, with notes of chocolate, spice and a richness that is well countered by the high ABV. This beer requires some good tasting and thought to break down its complex flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Overall a fantastic beer. Looked and smelled great (especially as it warmed up in the glass). Silky smooth on the palate, soft spices, and a lingering chocolate taste on the finish. On tap at Plan B.

Bottle. And wow. Pours a near black with a moderate light tan head. The nose is nothing I would have ever expected from a beer. You’re first hit with some rich chocolate notes that don’t imply sweetness. There is some subtle spices that are under the chocolate, but the chocolate dominates (I’m having trouble not continually smelling this beer). Chocolate is quite muted in the taste. Taste actually does bring out a slight bit of heat from the chilies and some nuttiness. Very complex and surprisingly light.

Very dark, nutty, sweet (but not overwhelingly). Slight bitterness. Overall great beer.

A - Pours a dark black color with a bit of brown mixed in and a finger of frothy khaki colored head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing. S - Aroma is dark caramel malts, with some dark fruit, cocoa, cinnamon, clove, and other spices, pecans, chilies, a bit of coffee and some booze. T - Starts off with a mix of dark caramel malts, dark fruit, cinnamon, other spices, and a bit of chili heat. Through the middle, the pecans come through with some cocoa, more spices, and some coffee. The finish is a mix of dark caramel malts, spices, pecans, cocoa, chilies, dark fruit, and a bit of booze. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet, warming, and lightly spicy finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice overall balance and complexity. The pecans, spices, and cocoa are a nice touch.

Always excited to try a limited edition beer. Who isn’t? Putting your nose in the glass you can smell toast (lightly burnt), vanilla, cinnamon, pecans, and green chilies. The first sip was a surprise; I could taste cinnamon, pecans, and green chilies, with a dark chocolate aftertaste. . This brew is defiantly a complex blend of traditional southwest flavors bottled with Northwest influence. I would strongly suggest you try this beer. If you don’t your loss. I bought a 22 oz bottle, comes very well packaged. Classy.
