Using rich Mexican chocolate nibs, cinnamon, toasted pecans, and green chilies, this brew will feature decadent chocolate notes with a subtle spice character to pique the taste buds. A complex blend of traditional southwest flavors brought to you by way of the Northwest.

Location/Date:Bottle split with Dave on 10/07/2012, crazy Redskins and Nats playoff day.

Appearance: Pours dark brown.
Aroma: Aroma of rpecan, chocolate.
Taste: Light bitterness, chocolate, pecan, faint chile.
Palate: Medium body, easily covers up 9.3 alcohol that I didn’t even know was there.

Summary: An interesting amalgamation of tastes. Sometimes the chocolate overrides the pecan and chile, but overall I found this to be interesting and just different from most other beers. Maybe would be better enjoyed when it’s super cold, with desert.

Bottle. Very dark brown to near black pour with a short, fizzy tan head. Aroma is slight spices, cocoa, dark chocolate and roasted malt. Taste brings out some more of the chilies and cocoa, dark chocolate notes, pecan pie and light cinnamon. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation and mild heat from the chilies. Finishes with more cinnamon, pecan pie, cocoa, dark chocolate notes, roasted malt, and chilies.

I smell the nutty chocolate flavor but not much of it nor anything else. The color is a dark brown color with a white head. A full bodied chocolately nutty flavor. Almost like a chocolate milk flavor. You can taste the alcohol flavor a bit anf its a bit bitter and almost spicy (hot) on the after taste. Overall its worth a try. A good beer

650 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, short lived light beige head, over a clear reddish brown (SRM 18) body.....nose is pecan, hints of cocoa, chocolate.....taste is cocoa, chocolate to start, hints of toffee/caramel sweetness, leading to light lingering chile heat, with tones of cinnamon, and umami, ....mouth feel medium, sticky, slight alcohol warmth present, carbonation low. This is an interesting conglomeration of ingredients. The pecans are the most dominant of the additions, adding to both aroma and flavors. The cocoa nibs (they aren’t yet chocolate) come through in a pleasant way. The chile and cinnamon were used with a light hand, so they are in background rather than dominating in the front. All in all, this is an interesting experiment. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

2012.12.15 - on tap Always Ron's in small tulip glass. Pours dark brown, moderate head. Aroma bland. Taste is smooth foamy head followed by roasted flavor followed by a bit if alcohol burn. It actually burned me lips a mild bit. There's some sweetness in there but not a lot. Kind of like a watery high alcohol stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black with almost a red hue.Too dark to show.Slight head. Aroma has some sweet nutty pecans(you wouldnt know it was this uless you read it-although it has a nutty character . synthetic plastic slightly),toastiness, chocolate, caramel.very slight cinnimon. Taste is chocolate, carmel, nutty, some toast, some spice.Fairly complex but almost watery or minerally.Bottle is over 6 mo. aged so maybe this would be more intense younger.Still a nice beer. A bit sweet, but not that rich and dosent seem like this high a abv.

Bottle. Perfumy vegetable and toffee malt aroma with a hint of pepper. Dark brown with small head. Chocolate, pecan malt flavor. Light pepper burn in the finish. Okay - flavors pretty subdued though.
