Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

After trying the woeful hef I had low expectations here. Pleasantly surprised as this has a nice malt driven flavour balanced with hops. Little bit of sweetness.

Bottle. Clear amber with a decent white head. Toasted malty and faint herbal hoppy aroma with notes of citrus. Bready flavor with light citrus, some notes of sweaty armpit in the finish. Ok bitterness. Oily texture, hints of alcohol. Bottled in nov 2012, might be more interesting if fresh.

Nice strong malty, musky scent with hints of grapefruit and orange rind. Very pleasing taste -- strong but not a palate wrecker, well balanced, juicy. Nice mild bitter aftertaste. This one came in under the radar.

0.355l bottle @ Baran. This is a clear deep golden one with a medium sized light lacing off-white top. Light fruity and caramel sweet aroma with some peaches, pine cones and some birch. It’s average on the carbonation and light oily on the mouthfeel. Good bitterness, almost what I would call grassy. Not particularly fresh or fruity, but more pine-bitter. The flavors fades quite quickly. Nice enough, nothing special and nothing I will remember for to long. 22.02.2013

Bottle. Shiny amber color with a medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and piney hops, slightly citric and slightly stale. Sweetish malty flavor with caramel, light fruitiness and piney and grapefruity hops leading to a pleasant bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Possibly a bit past its prime but still quite enjoyable.

Botella. Amber golden nice colour, medium off-white head, ok lacing. Sweet caramel hoppy fruity piney like aroma with some maltiness underneath. Good mouthfeel. Dámar mær bara heilt væl. Sweet caramel (exotic bit) fruity hoppy citrus bit flavour, the maltiness following after in to the seet caramel hoppy finish, where the nice bitterness comes along all the way.

(35 cl bottle from Høkeren; Bottled on November 20th 2012; BBD: March 31st 2014) I’ve been wanting to taste this ever since I first stumbled upon the description on RateBeer. The special draw is of course the Falconer’s Flight hop blend that I’ve never tasted before but read about. The concept of pre-blended hop pellets is new to me but as it allegedly contains both Citra, Simcoe and Sorachi Ace I assumed I would appreciate it. The beer pours a clear amber with a medium, white head that recedes fairly quickly leaving lace. Good regeneration. Aroma is somewhat boozy and mostly whithered hops owing probably to the relative age of the IPA - sadly something that seems to be the case for many bottled, American hopforward beers imported into Denmark. There are some faint herbal and citrus notes present in the nose after a bit of warming up. It never gets beyond that though unfortunately. Oily texture, full body, medium carbonation and a slightly bitter and warming finish with an odd off-taste. Taste is moderately bitter with heavy sweetness to counter it. Bordering a DIPA in my book. I’m glad I had the chance to try this.
