COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

Draft at Brass Tap Trinity. Pours a fairly clear copper amber color with a mid sized off-white head. Good lacing along the glass. Aroma has a decent amount of piney citrus hops. Flavor is good without being overly hoppy. Nice balance of hops and malt with a slightly dry hoppy finish. Tasty, easy drinking IPA.

Crisp copper coloured body with a bit of a light amber glow and almost no head at all. Aroma of grassy and candy sweet hops with a hint of yeast and alcohol. Medium-bodied; Very grassy and herbal hops with a perfumey kick and a nice malt flavour coupled with some herbal spice finishes. Aftertaste shows a good balance of hops and malt with a nice light sweetness at the tail end. Overall, a decent IPA with a lot of hops noticeable and a high IBU count, I’m sure, but when coupled with the malt and the subtle finish, makes for a relatively easy-drinking IPA. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church (Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia on 12-October-2012 for US$8.99/six pack, sampled at home in Upstate New York on 26-December-2012.

Not the best. Do not intend to buy a six pack, but would try again just to be certain!

Decent IPA, not hoppy or bitter enough for my likes and closer to an APA. But overall decent.

Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear copper with a thick white head. The aroma is grassy, a little astringent. The taste is lightly bitter with a nice grapefruit kick.. medium duration on the bitterness and a slight residual sweetness.

Bottle. Poured medium amber with a thick off-white head. Aroma and flavor leaned more toward the malty than hoppy. Quite a lot of caramel and doughy malt; moderate fruitiness; and mild to moderate bitterness, some orange and grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel. A very solid IPA.

Bottle. Pours a copper color with lots of piney hop aroma. Flavor is a nice hop burst highlighted by citrus and pine. Another good rotator series IPA.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a deep copper color with a medium white head. A light nose of marmalade and biscuit. Very mellow, this might be a little old, but not much: some caramel, biscuit, oranges and lemon. Decent.

Bottle. Darkest of these latest three rotator IPAs ... deep woody-amber. Rocky, gluey head. This has the barest of outdoorsy aromas; it drinks with a rich woodsiness of an English ale, with a little bit of an American hop kiss. Exceptionally well balanced with a big, rich malt backdrop. My kind of IPA. (#4859, 12/16/2012)

Gold, clear, white head. Piney-citrus hops, some grapefruit, a little caramel malt, some toast, some lingering bitterness in finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
