COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

From bottle. Mild sweet nose, caramel and light hoppy character. Amber golden clear with light haze, topped with thin off-white foamy lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts fairly dry and nutty with caramel and crystal sweetness. Big hoppy profile in the finish, bitter but not a lot of flavor. Lasting bitter after, dry with carbonic bite.

12oz bottle pours deep copper with full tan head. The modest aroma offers up malt sweetened tangelo mixed with pine and spicy hops. The taste is full forward tangelo and grapefruit malt sweetened citrus that rolls into more and more bitterness rimmed with spicy hops and some pine. Supporting the hops in the background is a modest yet persistent malty sweetness. Nice IPA.

The beer pours a clear orange color with a white head. The aroma is very fruity, with some grapes, cherries and pine notes mixed in with some toffee. The flavor is similar. I get orange and cherry with biscuit malt and a low amount of bitterness. I also get a little bit of pine, but the fruit notes from the hops stand out more. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle. Grassy aroma with a bit of peat; pale golden amber with a faint head. Strong hop flavor with just a bit of bitterness, and a nice malt flavor underneath that. Full, effervescent feel in the mouth. Smooth hoppy aftertaste.

Aroma hasnice spruce accent with a noticeable floral background Flavor is bitter with some nice pronounced grapefruit notes, a bit of apricots. Caramel sweetness is detected in the backend. Sticky mouthfeel. Pretty solid.

Bottle. The pour was a medium copper orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) off white rocky head that had great retention, lasting throughout with some great sticky lacing. The aroma was of caramel malts, floral and citrus hops and an earthy yeast with notes of caramel and grapefruit. The taste was at first sweetly malty with a huge note of caramel and then slowly became nice and hoppy with a note of citrus (grapefruit) at the end. The flavor lasted a very long time proceeding the swallow with a good strong hoppy taste left on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was somewhere between light and medium in body and dry in texture with a prickly carbonation. Overall an IPA that started mildly malty and a tad sweet but ended BIG in the hops department...

Nice floral slightly spicy hop aromas. Touch of caramel on nose. Pours nice bright copper with offwhite head. Taste is hop forward. Moderate bitterness, but no real malt presence. Somewhat a very traditional IPA (minus points for lack of any malt presence). Would drink again, but with so many other available IPA choices these days, probably wouldn’t pay for it.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper/amber with a one finger off white head. Some lace. Aroma is predominately grapefruit with some orange zest. Taste mimics the aroma to the tee. Maybe some caramel malt. Full palate with a bitter finish. Very nice, very drinkable, if somewhat one diminsional.
