3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours clear ruddy copper with a very transient whiteish head. Very floral aroma. Med body. Flavor is floral/citrus. Seems a bit light stone fruity. Malt is pretty well balanced out by the hop. Given the floral I’d vote ESB, but the malt level isn’t there. Very pleasant drink.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sharp and snappy IPA without enough sweetness to balance it out. Rough bitterness, but not necessarily what I’d call harsh. Dry, peppery and bitter finish. Malts are toasted and crusty. Hops are nutty, resinous, woodsy and grassy. Not bad, but I didn’t like it nearly as much as the juicy X-114.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear copper with a smallish beige head. The aroma has bready caramel malts, peaches, pineapple, spice and lots of tropical hoppiness. Medium body with mildly sharp carbonation. The flavor starts out with caramel malt that is sweeter than the aroma lets on & the hops of the aroma are there, but they are a bit overpowered by the malt. The finish has some hard mineral traits added in. This is a decent beer for the price.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Coppery amber with a short, foamy tan head. Floral and citrusy hops with a touch of pine and a pleasant caramel and malt backbone. Taste is slightly spicy hops mixed with pine, floral notes, light citrus, chewy malt, and caramel. Body is medium and slick/resinous with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more floral notes, citrus fruit, pine resins, spicy hops, caramel, chewy malt and tropical fruit.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear bright orange with a smallish head. Big orange citrus hoppy aroma, with some sticky resin tones, alongside some floralness. Taste was mild citrus with some grassy bitterness taking the spotlight. Chewy toffee backbone, but still too dry and bitter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very orange. That beautiful collision of aromas that is Falconer’s Flight; pepper, grapefruit and resin. Very bitter, it tightens your mouth tremendously. Caramel malt hovers creamily in the finish. A great improvement on the previous rotation.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Rotator smells like a hardcore IPA, and it tastes like it too. Naturally, this is a big turn off for me.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the bottle less than 1 month old. It pours golden orange rather dark with an off white disappearing head. The aroma is a bit subdued for an IPA with notes of fruity peaches and grass. The flavor is fruity and grassy up front followed by a big piney bitterness in the finish. The body is perfect for a beer of this gravity. No sweet sticky caramel malts. Pretty nice IPA if not really memorable. Falconer hops are a bit of a mystery for me. I’m liking these new beers from Widmer.
