Glen Falconer was passionate about friends, familly, and great IPAs. So in tribute, we’ve created an IPA worth of this master brewer. Made with Falconer’s Flight hops from Hopunion, LLC, a blend named for Glen himself. The result is a bright, moderately bitter IPA with stonefruit aromas and a strong malt backbone. We think Glen would approved. Proceeds from the sale of Falconer’s Flight hops go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, providing scholarships to professional and aspiring brewers. In addition, Widmer Brothers Brewing is making a donation to grant two additional scholarships. Learn more at www.glenfalconerfoundation.org. Prost! To true hop heads.

I do like a good Pacific IPA and I’ve been looking forward to this one for days. Rich golden amber in colour with a coarse cream coloured head with a greenish tinge. Classic American IPA aromas of spruce, amber malts, redwood bark, grassiness and abundant and fragrant hops. Perfect. The flavour is bang on with the massive astringent hoppy burst I was expecting. This beer is stereotypical and just what I wanted. Glen Falconer should be proud that his beer is interpreted as the classic American IPA half a world away. Gorgeous.

22oz bottle. Pours a redish orange with a full off white head. Fruity tropical hop aroma. Decent malt flavors. Plenty of bitterness but the hops are not very fresh. Cardboardy.

Clear amber body with low head. Aroma has tropical dark fruits with caramel background. Taste is a dry caramel sweet at first, with long lasting earthy, floral bitterness. Lower attenuation. Body is oily, with medium carbonation.

It’s hazy red copper with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of soap, caramel and exotic fruits. The flavor is sweet with dry notes of fruit, caramel, berries and the finish has a light and fairly dry bitterness.

Bottle. Yellow color with a white head. A soapy floral and pine aroma and does not carry any better into the finish and palate. It seems somewhat astringent and lacks some sweetness or citrus balance. The malts are a little harsh.

Dark chestnut brown in the glass, The beer starts slightly malty and very nice hopped. The mainpart is smooth, highly drinkable, nice malt basis and very nice floral hoppy, the bitterness is also very nice and round. The aftertaste is long, slightly sweet, malty-dry and nicely floral hoppy bitter.
--> very nice maltier IPA. Not too sweet, but I think the malt-basis tends to put the floral hops a bit into the background.
--> 12/13/12/12
