4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heemer77 (5013) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - OCT 26, 2011Deep copper hued brew with a dense but light khaki head. Nose of grapefruit and caramel. There is also fresh cut wood. The taste is brown sugar coated grapefruit with some pine on the back end. There is also a little hint of smoke, especially in the finish. This is a pretty nice sticky slightly sweet IPA. I like it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jimthechap (1195) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 19, 2013
I do like a good Pacific IPA and I’ve been looking forward to this one for days. Rich golden amber in colour with a coarse cream coloured head with a greenish tinge. Classic American IPA aromas of spruce, amber malts, redwood bark, grassiness and abundant and fragrant hops. Perfect. The flavour is bang on with the massive astringent hoppy burst I was expecting. This beer is stereotypical and just what I wanted. Glen Falconer should be proud that his beer is interpreted as the classic American IPA half a world away. Gorgeous.

A - Pours a crystal clear reddish amber with thick off-white head. Plenty of lacing.
S - Pine, some steely caramel, muted citrus.
T - Wow! Way better than the nose. Pine, mint, bitter grapefruit rind, toasty biscuty caramel malt base, strawberry/citrus sweetness. Sweet herbal mint end the dry finish.
M - Medium body, great carbonation.
Very balanced with enough of a hop punch to satisfy. Aroma needs works but this is a great tasting IPA.

Excelente breja!

Bottled. Hazy amber, small head. Rich salty grapefruit aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Dominated by salty grapefruit but in a highly positive way. Long bitter finish. Never been a huge fan of Widmer’s, but this one struck a note.
