Weíre turning things deliciously upside down with an aggressively hopped cold-fermented brew that brings together the clean crisp finish of a lager with the hoppy aroma and character of an IPA. PROST! To turning convention on its head.

Bottle into lager glass. Pours a lightly cloudy honey gold color with a thick head that dissipates quickly leaving behind little lace. Aroma is definitely IPA with notes of orange peel, spruce pine, and hints of cloves. Taste is a little bland but is definitely lager-esque with an acetic initial flavor finishing lightly bitter. Light-medium body, soft carbonation, watery feel with a light alcoholic finish. I love the idea of this cold brewed IPA and it is a great result.

On tap at Stagecoach. Gold and clear with a nice white head. Nice fresh aroma and flavor of citrus, tropical fruit and toasty malts. Bitter and lightly sweet.

Smells like an IPA but drinks like a lager. Aroma floral with some yeast/bready qualities maybe a little orange or other citrus lightly present. Appearance is clear golden yellow lacing present throughout with a nice creamy head that stays throughout. Taste is crisp with a slightly salty bitterness that is pine and roasted malts and pepper. Great balance and it finishes peppery but not bitter. Lager like finish with hops everywhere. This is almost a sessionable IPA/IPL from Widmerís rotator series. Its exceptional medium to light body with good carbonation and a long finish. Its what I expect from the series which has featured amazing others including OíRyely and Falconers IPAís. Its a perfect IPA choice for someone who normally doesnít like IPAís.

Didnít find it at all hoppy. I thought it was kind of on the sweet and fruity side and didnít complement my meal as I hoped it would.

From Asahiya, bottle 525 yen. Served in a snifter. A clear orange pour with a tropical fruit aroma, I am getting mango, passion fruit & kumquat. Delicious smell! The taste is well balanced, tropical fruits, solid malt caramel & a dash of bitterness.

Clear yellow, quick white head. Nose is apricot and pine. More astringent than bitter. Middle is alcohol & lightly kilned grain. Finish is bitter from hops and alcohol. I found this beer somewhat unbalanced.

Chalky, vehemently dry, rife with an petulant mouthfeel thatís just stubbornly bad. These two styles get together to buck heads and rap knuckles against one another. Bad.

Tap @ TacoMac, Cumming. Golden pour. Thin white foam, great lacing. Sweet, hop floral nose. Fruity scent. Hoppy flavor. Alpha bitterness, sweet malts, very well done. Big flavor complexity. Lager yeast esters, big NW hops, loads of pale grains. This maybe my favorite Widmer. (3876)

Not your daddy's lager. This has a fruity hoppy aroma as well as taste. Extremely smooth and easy drinking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
