COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re turning things deliciously upside down with an aggressively hopped cold-fermented brew that brings together the clean crisp finish of a lager with the hoppy aroma and character of an IPA. PROST! To turning convention on its head.

Pour is a hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is minimal. Some grainy malt and a slight hop. Flavor is a spicy hop to start then comes a bit of dull malts. Definitely a hoppy’er than usual lager but still kinda bland with nothing following up the spicy hop

12 oz bottle. Pours clear gold with a small white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet starchy malts with some fruity hops.

The flavor is sweet vegetal malts with some harsh metallic bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, kind of a mess of sweetness and bitterness.

Aroma is pine, citrus, light fruit and malts. The flavor is grapefruit, fruit, citrus, mild hop resin notes, malts and a very dry/bitter finish. Great lager, am really enjoying this style.

tap at redhook brewpub, portsmouth - actually contracted there. clear bright yellow with a nice white head, good retention/lacing. passionfruit, flowers, orange creamsicle aroma. lager fruitiness, mostly herbal notes but citrus tends to make its way through and blend in well with these subtle lager fruity notes. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, almost bland herbal finish though, too bad. still.. a nice ipl.

Poured into a pint glass. Golden color with a thin cream colored head. Aroma is predominantly grapefruit and piney hop notes. Flavor has a light malty body like a pilsner, but is backed up by significant hop character. Light/medium bodied with light astringency. Overall a very nice hoppy lager.

The beer pours a golden lager color with a frothy white finger and a half of head that quickly dissipates. It is not overly carbonated. There is an earthy grassy note to the nose. Maybe a hint of grain, definitely a hint of lager yeast esters and maybe some diacetyl. The taste is rather disappointing. Drinks like a lager. There may be a slight pine note in the middle of the tongue but other than that its very lageresque. It does finish with a bitterness though and that is really where the hops that are in the beer shine. Wow. The finish makes this beer. I recant my previous statements. Its not an IPA, but it drinks very nicely. Not a hop forward beer but a hop finishing beer. The initial taste doesn’t make you think you are drinking a hopped beer but the finish and lingering hop does. This is a very interesting beer. It’s a nice change. You do however notice the 6.7%ABV. Nice.

Bottle. Clear amber with a medium-sized white head. Smelly citrus / tutti-frutti / grape / pear / pineapple hop nose with some strange cola and caramel malt base. Bitter and sweet with a coarse, fizzy texture. Lively carbonation, more vibrant and expressive than any Widmer beer I’ve had in the last few years, and with no glaring off-notes. It’s just the hop and malt combination gives it a white grape juice / cotton candy / gelatin candy sugariness that I don’t appreciate.

Bottle share by Bob, light golden pour, minimal head. Aroma of citrus hops and some lemon zest. Taste is some piney hops and grain. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I’m loving this new wave of IPL’s. Crispness and session/drinkability of a lager with the hops, flavor, and mouth feel of an IPA. The citrus/tropical fruit hops in this are terrific.
