We’re turning things deliciously upside down with an aggressively hopped cold-fermented brew that brings together the clean crisp finish of a lager with the hoppy aroma and character of an IPA. PROST! To turning convention on its head.

355 mL. Another IPL. They seem to be everywhere now. Not sure why. The lager malt profile just doesn’t hold up to the hops, so you can’t use enough hops to make it worthwhile; shouldn’t really be called an IPL. It’s a flavourful lager. This one smells lovely, but tastes like a flavourful lager. Not a lot of bitterness, but a lot for a lager.

Love this beer. It is an excellent example of an American IPA. Full of hops. Heavy grapefruit flavor, noticeable alcohol and a bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at UES Pony Bar with Streets. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is fresh grass, pine and bitter citrus fruits. Mouthfeel is medium to thin and refreshing with notes of grapefruit, pine and grass. Pretty straightforward, but tasted solid and super fresh.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice golden yellow with a one inch white head that lasts. Taste is of hops, pine, citrus and some malt. Similar, hoppy aroma. Has a has nice, resiny body. The finish is dry, bitter and lingers for a bit. Drinkable and enjoyable, but needs to be more balanced before they include the lager part, as it reminds more of and IPA.

12oz bottle. Pours clear yellow/orange with white head. Strong hop aroma, taste is crisp and clear. Call it what you will but this is a session beer for hop fans.

Bottle. Wonderful floral hop aroma. Lots of visible carbonation. Thin white head and some lace. Virtually crystal clear body. Was thinking that was odd for an ale, and then looked at the name of the beer and realized it’s a lager. So it makes sense. Perhaps the most flavor I’ve ever had from a lager; somewhat comparable in that way to Sam Adams. Tastes a little more alcoholic than 6.7%. Very good.

Clear, Amber tinted gold, frothy white head which sticks around. Nose is a strange burnt malt, toast, cereal and grain. Lots of yeast notes too.Flavour is similar, toasted malt, doughy yeast. Quite dry, medium to thin body, highly carbonated. Finish is malty with some cascade dry grapefruit bitterness.

12oz bottle. Pours a light golden with a white head. I’m liking this style and have been seeing it more and more as of late though this is not one of the better ones. That said, it is quite drinkable. Minimal hop aromas with flavors of grapefruit and onion with a bit of a metallic aftertaste. Nothing to go out of your way for but makes for an OK dinner beer.
