We’re turning things deliciously upside down with an aggressively hopped cold-fermented brew that brings together the clean crisp finish of a lager with the hoppy aroma and character of an IPA. PROST! To turning convention on its head.

Draft at Moriartys. Half-pint. Light amber pour. Foamy off-white head. Earthy floral hops jump out. Dark wheat on the nose. Truffles. Orange peels. Sage. Pine cones. Salted caramels. Grass. Slight sour funk when warm. In no way a typical IPA. Expectations were a bit low. Still debating with myself if I like this. I unexpectedly just might.

12oz bottle - pours gold with white head and thin lacing. Nose is citrus and sort of like a pilsner. Flavor adds caramel and grassy hops. Taste is moderately bitter for an IPA but quite strong for the actual style with underlying sweetness. Refreshing and light to medium body. Bitterness tingles the tongue. Short finish. Hides the ABV very well consider how watery this is. Glad I tried it but not inspiring my humor or whimsical character.

Smooth malt profile. Rich in biscuity character with subtle fruity notes and fresh grass. Pine and grapefruit highlights. Solid floral nature. Solid IPA?

Woah... I was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised by this one! Purs a dehydrated piss color with a 3 finger white head. Aromas were pretty flat... Some cat piss and floral hops, but mostly flat. Taste was way more bitter (and better) than the nose led on. Pretty intensely bitter, with a nice hop bite and dry finish. Pretty good brew!

Patrickctenchi (4266) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Pours clear, light amber with a frothy, off-white head...lacy. Aroma is malt, citrus bitter. Taste is a smooth, soft, grapefruit peel. Very crisp and refreshing... A good "outdoorsy" summer beer.

Pours a clear yellow on tap with bubbly white head and decent lacing, bubbly carbonation rising up. Aroma is spicy floral hoppiness and hints of grass. Taste follows, clean and bright with the hop flavor. Interesting, no real finish but well done for what it is, a lagered IPA.

Meh, pretty disappointed given how much I typically Widmer brews. Don't care for the taste or the mouthfeel. Glad I didn't get a sixer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is a mix of pine and grass with some biscuit malt. Flavor is similar. I get some juicy orange notes as well as some nice pine. The biscuit malt keeps the beer from being too bitter. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Aurelius (4452) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Clear gold, tall head in a goblet, good label. Hoppy, malty golden ale aroma - nothing special, but OK. Lemony, moderately sweet, back-of-the-tongue bittering. Starchy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Don’t run over any schoolchildren to pick one of these up. ABC Liquors, Betton.

A mild IPA but very refreshing. Great since the weather is warming up. Solid hops with a light-medium body. Not too potent and very session-able.
