We’re turning things deliciously upside down with an aggressively hopped cold-fermented brew that brings together the clean crisp finish of a lager with the hoppy aroma and character of an IPA. PROST! To turning convention on its head.

12oz bottle pours with a crystal clear deep gold body supporting a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth soft yet rich citrus hop extract enhanced grapefruit notes as well as malt sweetened orange peel. Well, behind those notes I get a sense of lager-y yeasty esters but I’m not sure I would notice them if I wasn’t expecting to smell them. The taste is similar with a pleasing clean citrus hop extract flavor that tugs onto a wedge of resiny citrus hop bitterness and those notes seem to go back and forth for a while. In the background is a light sense of the lager yeast presence as well as a faint malt backbone. This is pretty darn nice as well as hoppy.

Medium gold with a bright white head. The nose is loaded with fresh grapefruit and flowers. There is also some dough and almonds. Hints of spice. This tastes bitter with some grapefruit and bits of almonds. There is was also some toast. A nicely done and well balanced IPA.

I like this. A great hop flavor and hop bite, I actually like this better than many of their rotator IPAs. It has a nice finish. Pretty simple but taste.

Smooth, lime and grass nose. A good thickness to it. Caramel. A little claggy but good. Some bitterness.

Bottle. Translucent golden amber with a short, sticky white head. leaves nice lacing on the tulip glass. Aroma is floral hops, earthy hops, citrus fruit, sweet malt, biscuits and grass. More grassy notes and floral hops up front with light caramel, crackery malts, biscuit notes, citrus and mild earthiness in the background. Medium bodied and slightly chewy with a moderate, dense, bubbly carbonation. Light stickiness as well. Ends wit more sweet malt, floral notes, grass, biscuits and light earthy notes.

12oz bottle pours a clear golden orange color with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of biscuit, pine, and sweet malt. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with a decent hop bite in the back end. Mouthfeel is light and watery but chewy with good carbonation. I like the hoppy lager concept that’s slowly working its way into the craft beer world. It’s very sessionable and a good summer beer after a long warm day but with the 6.7 abv you have to be careful not to drink too many.

Draft at Moriartys. Half-pint. Light amber pour. Foamy off-white head. Earthy floral hops jump out. Dark wheat on the nose. Truffles. Orange peels. Sage. Pine cones. Salted caramels. Grass. Slight sour funk when warm. In no way a typical IPA. Expectations were a bit low. Still debating with myself if I like this. I unexpectedly just might.

12oz bottle - pours gold with white head and thin lacing. Nose is citrus and sort of like a pilsner. Flavor adds caramel and grassy hops. Taste is moderately bitter for an IPA but quite strong for the actual style with underlying sweetness. Refreshing and light to medium body. Bitterness tingles the tongue. Short finish. Hides the ABV very well consider how watery this is. Glad I tried it but not inspiring my humor or whimsical character.

Smooth malt profile. Rich in biscuity character with subtle fruity notes and fresh grass. Pine and grapefruit highlights. Solid floral nature. Solid IPA?
