We’re turning things deliciously upside down with an aggressively hopped cold-fermented brew that brings together the clean crisp finish of a lager with the hoppy aroma and character of an IPA. PROST! To turning convention on its head.

Wow, there’s a *lot* of catty, grassy hop aroma coming off this one! Crystal clear medium yellow with a soapy white head. Those hops bite right in immediately on the tongue with more of the same as well as some pine resin and citrus pith. It actually seems like this is a really strong beer, but I think it’s the hops, not the alcohol (at only 6.7%). Even with this, there’s a really good balance here with some light biscuit malt sweetness. A bit of hay and yeast funkiness in the background (although again that might be the hops!). The bitterness lays down and wraps around the tongue like a delicious hop blanket. Bitey right through to the end, there’s a lingering earthiness and honeyed sweetness that makes you want to go back immediately for more. Excellent, tasty and surprising lager.

Smell is awful and the taste is worse. Very malty and bitter. You need to be a real man to choke this abortion down. Pours clipper with a cream head. Sink pour at best

Draught @ Waterfront Ale House. Hazy bright orange with small off-white foamy head, lemon peel aroma, low carbonation, bitter lemon zest taste, medium bitter finish with a great deal of aftertaste. Smooth body but strong lemon flavor.

My first exposure to Widmer Brothers definitely wont be my last! Great aroma erupts from the bottle, with scents of apples and lemons. pours golden yellow. Has a white head, medium duration. flavors of citrus, herb and apples. Flavor starts mild sweet and finishes with just the right amount of bitterness.. Dry, creamy texture.
