People sometimes describe the aromas and flavors of hoppy IPAs as “grapefruit.” Hell, why not use some then? Widmer’s brewing team used a simple IPA recipe and added a generous amount of dried grapefruit peel to the end of the boil. The aroma is a melody of citrus, with a slight spice undertone, accentuated by the use of Citra hops. The flavor is that of nice hop forward IPA with the bitterness of grapefruit.

draft. grapefruit. more grapefruit. I appreciate the citrus grapefruit aroma and flavor but the bitterness isn’t there. that being said, it’s a good refreshing beer that would serve well on a hot summer day.

12oz bottle poured into a large Duvel tulip glass. Pours a clear golden hued color with a quarter finger head with no lacing. Aroma is grapefruit and pine. The taste was less muted than what I was expecting. I did get the grapefruit but no real hop flavor to speak of. Mouthfeel is dry and clean at the finish. Despite not being a hop bomb it’s still a good choice for summer.

Bottle. Orange with medium white head. Aroma is grapefruit and a bit of herb. Restrained flavour, not a hop bomb, and a good warm weather beer. The finish sort of sneaks up on you and takes residence in your mouth

Great bready, citrus aroma. Nice bitter hops and you think the citrus will give some sweetness, but it is obviously the grapefruit that makes it end dry and clean. Very well made, but I won’t be seeking it out.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours very light amber with a sturdy bubbly/foamy off-white head. Aroma of resin and light cat pee. Med body or better. Flavor is amazing. Citrus/pine followed by ? which quickly becomes very firm grapefruit rind. So we’re talking grapefruit zest here? And pink grapefruit or "normal"? It’s damn bitter. This has almost as much grapefruit as Pink Killer, but it’s so much more "normal". If you want your mouth twisted, try this one.
