3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Widmer Bros. brews have been hit and miss with me, so Iím not sure about this one. Looks nice enough: light orange amber, decent white head, good retention. Aroma is lovely perfumey citrus rind with underlying sweet malts. Nice bold grapefruit hop flavour, nice balancing malts, solid bitter finish. This oneís a winner with me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle - pours gold with white head and spoty lacing. Nose is pine and caramel. Flavor adds more pine. Quite bitter with light sweetness. Dry finish. Faint citrus aftertaste. Medium body. Standard for style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Pours a sparkling medium copper with a sticky off-white head that leaves a decent film of lacing. Hoppy, resiny, aroma with some pine syrup notes and touch of cat urine. Flavor is full-bodied with some tangy spicy, nutty notes, a bit of syrupy maple-like essence with a back end of requisite grapefruit citrus notes. Mouthfeel is thick, sticky and rich. As goes the rest of this series - very solid.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours golden. Bitterness very evident - definitely notice the grapefruit. A bit more bitter and less floral than what I look for.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Sept. 20, 2012 (purchased at Vons in Mission Gorge (San Diego, Calif.) for a 6-pack price of $8.99 (I think) (with card) on Sept. 19, 2012)). About a finger of head. Honey golden with white head. Average-to-below retention all-around.
Smelled a gigantic whiff of grapefruit citrus hops. Also some lemon and floral notes. A bit bitter, but it all comes together nice.
Tasted close to the nose, but didnít have the same impact as the nose. Got that grapefruit taste in the front, which gave way to a huge bitter aftertaste. Could almost taste the grapefruit seeds. Got a slight taste of floral hops as well.
Light body. Thin texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Long, bitter finish.
A pretty good beer overall. I enjoyed it, but I donít know how Iíll enjoy the other five.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This ne was a shock to me. Best thing Iíve had from Widmer. The grapefruit is a perfect match for the hop character. Resinous huge aroma. Great fresh hop flavor.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle from Wegmanís, King of Prussia, PA. An attractive pale amber pour with a loose white head; aroma of grapefruit, and straw drying on a summerís day, with some pine trees nearby where the resin is so strong it brings tearís to your eyes; the taste is quite soft and flabby at first, but the grapefruit really picks things up, leading towards a dry and bitter finish.

We have been impressed with Widmerís Rotator series of IPAs. This on is one of the favorites. Nice grapefruit tones thru out. Sorry to see this írotateí out of the series but it will be back!
