3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Widmer Brothers Shaddock IPA has a medium, off-white head and a mostly clear, sediment-ridden, slightly bubbly, orange-golden appearance, with some fairly thick lacing left behind. The aroma is strongly of grapefruit, even from a distance. Taste is of bitter, grapefruit peel and a bit of barley malt. The bitterness seems to be coming from the added fruit, not the hops. Mouthfeel is medium, and Widmer Brothers Shaddock IPA finishes tart, tangy, mostly dry, and fruity. Overall, it’s good. RJT

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle bought from Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours hazy golden-orange with a thin white collapsing head. Aroma is cat piss first, followed by mild grapefruit and some bready malt. Taste starts out mildly sweet before becoming really bitter and lingering that way through the long finish. The grapefruit really comes to the fore after it warms up a bit. Pretty good.

Poor man’s Ninkasi, plus it’s an IPA, so overall a forgettable drinking experience.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler sample via and shared with oakbluff. Caramel gold in colour with medium carbonation. Quite floral on the nose, mixed with elements of pink grapefruit and pine. A mix of pale malt and dry biscuit malts blend welll with smooth tangerine and grapefruit notes. Moderate bitterness. Almost too mellow... it could have been brighter.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle pours clear gold with copper hues and near white head. The aroma offers up some nice mostly citrus hop notes that pick up a sliver of mango and then some malt sweetness in the background. Solid aroma. The taste begins with smooth malt sweetened tangelo and then becoming somewhat grapefruit as the hop bitterness rises to the front to midway and into the finish. This is a very nice citrusy brew with a pleasing balance between hop bitterness and flavor. Solid IPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
8/18/12. 12oz bottle from Grassroots. Clear orange pour with a small khaki head. Mild citrus and caramel aroma that doesn’t scream grapefruit to me. The flavor however has much more definite, bitter grapefruit aspects. Lingers dry with grapefruit aspects. Meh. I’m also not a huge grapefruit fan...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A golden amber IPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a nice floral citrusy hops over biscuit malt, and light grapefruit notes. In mouth, a citrus party, with crisp biscuit malt with loads of floral citrusy hops, light catnip, white grapefruit pulp, very well made. 12 on bottle from Total Wine and More-Summerlin (LV), 1.49$.
