Bottle:   Pretty dark for a porter.   Smooth, soft roast, a little spicy, touch of ash and campfire.   Subtle dark chocolate and coffee as well.   Despite not being thick or heavy, its smooth.   Wow, the more I drink this the more I think this is a great porter.   Low hops, not real heavy, but again this one is super smooth.   Nice bits and pieces of ash, roasted malts, dark chocolate, with a little bit of coffee.   I had my doubts about this as its Widmer, but wow was this a surprise.

Bomber. Pours a almost pitch black color with a large beige head. Light nose of chocolates, roast some toffee. The flavor is very nice: ash, dark chocolate, cocoa, a bit of milk, some sweeter toffee and caramel, a bit of earthiness. Very much an English porter in my view but with a pretty aggressive fruity perfume hop finish. Awesome.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a suggestion of citrus. Further sniffs lead to a suspicion of coffee. Med + body. Thereís a citrus hit, then a chocolate malt, then a sort of mustiness which is likely coffee. I think itís rounding out into coffee and citrus. It feels earthy, but I think the reason is the malt and coffee. Itís a bit different to me, but itís pretty tasty.

Not very sweet, kind of dry. Itís different, so for that reason, I like it.

22 oz bought from "Habits" Salem $2.89 THis is under the Widmer label but has a Collaborator crest on the side and is now 5.6% Gorgeous dark dark mahogany coloured ale with a beautiful thick light tan head. Nice roasted oaty aroma..more stout than porter to be honest, but nice. Taste is very burnt oat/bonfire toffee..bitter dark roast coffee.THis to me is a stout. Mouth feel is pretty nice smooth and easy. Nice drink but not really a porter.

From bottle. Listed as 5.6% ABV. Black with a tinge of dark brown, with than head. Aroma is roasted dark malt, smoke, and a burnt chocolate note. Taste is roasted and toasted, with smokey dark chocolate, grassy hops, and licorice. Finishes with a smokey chocolate and slightly bitter aftertaste.

GABF 2011. Dark black with ruby highlights. No head. Nice roasty dark black grain aroma and light white chocolate tones. Flavor is medium with black roasty grains, burnt toast, black licorice, and a touch of chocolate. Not too keen.
