COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with 6 different hop varieties and 3 different grains, including wheat, Upheaval will be a fitting tribute, not only to the bold Northwest-style IPA, but to Kurt and Rob Widmer’s unapologetic attitude in legacy of innovation.

On tap. Yellow, little but cloudy with nice white head and not bad lacing. Medium aromas of citrus and herbs, could have been stronger. Medium body with very stron bitterness finish. Really a good one.

Upheaval is a hop-forward IPA with a 6-hop bouquet of Northwestern America’s cones. Lovely floral aromatics. The flavor profile has lots of citrus and forest hops. While there is quite a lot of bitterness, the balance is still nice and approachable. A beautiful example of what Western America’s IPA’s are all about.

12-ounce bottles poured into a large dimpled mug. Unfiltered, tall head, strong floral aroma, hints of grapefruit. I am not a fan of most IPAs but this one is not as bitter as most. Easy drinking for a 7% abv. Very good.

Sadly the best before date was almost due with this one. Orange beer with small head on top. Aroma has caramel and cookie malts with some pines. Taste is malty, caramel sweetness and cookie malts with pines in the end. Medium body and medium carbonation. Definitely the best edge has been mellowed here.

12oz bb06/2016 from Bierhandlung Freiburg. Light orange, mid-viscous pour. Sweet apricot marmelade, pine and cooked pineapple aroma. Satisfyingly rich, jammy mouthfeel - something not easily replicated by EU cover versions. Best of sweet, resinous C-hops in taste, quince and pineapple marmelade sealed with dewy resins and a kafir lime leaf floral finish. Satisfying classic.

Good aroma, very potent, could smell it out of the bottle. Floral, yeasty, with a bit of citrus. Appearance was nicely amber with a small white head, slightly hazy Taste was bitter with a bit of sweetness Palate had medium body with slick texture average carbonation and clean short finish Good for a cheap IPA I liked and would definitely try it again.

Bottle from Chevy Chase Wine and Liquors. Hazy gold body with thin head. Nose is floral, hoppy. Taste is hoppy, spice. Peppery. Clean finish.

22oz bottle pours clear amber gold with a finger of head. Nose and palate have toasted honey, malt grain, medium-low sweetness, sticky orange, pine, apricot, spice. Finishes with moderate sweet hiney malt biscuit, piney round orange, medium citrus fruit notes, strong bitterness.

Bottle. Pale amber, hazy. An inch of white head. Aroma is OK but not the boldest. Has mandarins, tropical bubblegum, some pine. Thin for 7% - thinnish for 5. More rambunctious on the palate, but not necessarily an improvement - it’s bold but a mite disjointed. Sweetish, weedy and fruity. Herbal and boiled orange notes with medium to high bitterness. Bracing.
