Brewed with 6 different hop varieties and 3 different grains, including wheat, Upheaval will be a fitting tribute, not only to the bold Northwest-style IPA, but to Kurt and Rob Widmer’s unapologetic attitude in legacy of innovation.

Tap at 3 squares. Hazy orange with white head and good lacing. Hoppy and piney aroma, more than expected for the appearance. Some bite at the finish. Could have been smoother in mouthfeel. Solid.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Bready cara-malty aroma with piney and mildly fruity hops. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Mildly cara-malty base with notes of white bread, resiny/piney and slightly fruity hops character with notes of grapefruit and mango; dry and moderately hop bitter finish with resiny and lighter fruity notes. Solid quality IPA. 19.VIII.14

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Grand Tasting - Moncada Brewery. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. This one seems a little old, with crackery malts, hints of dry caramel, dusty pine, leaves. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Simple dry and bready finish with light leafy hops, dried pine. So so.

355ml bottle (Black Door, Helsinki)
Slightly dishwatery aroma, but majoring in caramel. Hazy orange, small brief head. Slightly soapy, but actually pretty OK sweet hoppy taste. Lots of caramel, but a good amount of bitterness too. Finish is very reiny, which almost makes up for the part-sugary-part-watery feel in the mouth. Finish packed with resins, and lasts a fair while. Some perfumey aspects too. A curiious one, has some pretty pour lows, but some pretty decent highs. Not gonna waste any, put it that way...

(Bottle, 0.355 l - bottled on Apr 01 14 , at Black Door, 20140815) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, herbalness and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, pine, herbalness, malts and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy, sweet and bitter. A not so impressive American IPA. Perhaps too old.

Bottle@ahven. Hazy amber, coppery. Fruity hoppy nose. Green melon, some citrus, sweet tropicals. And some caramels. Medium bodied, some sweetness, but bitter too. Green berries, some greenery. Tangerene finish. A hoppy caramel ipa. Candy for some.
