COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with 6 different hop varieties and 3 different grains, including wheat, Upheaval will be a fitting tribute, not only to the bold Northwest-style IPA, but to Kurt and Rob Widmerís unapologetic attitude in legacy of innovation.

Bottle. Pours bit cloudy intense orange with big frothy off-white head. Aroma is mellow and sweet. Tropical fruits, some bread. Taste is sweet malty but gets quickly quite hoppy. With long really bitter hoppy and piny finish. Bit harsh.

From bottle. What is it with this style, never got it. These ipas can produce some of the worst reactions on my darling little taste buds. Especially these rudish nasty Nellie BS that is certainly more like a double imperial ipa. Thar........you have it, terribly on style. WEWWW mouth coating real tarlike resin slippery smooth soapy bitter finish. Now I canít taste any thing for a while. One extra point for the kick in the teeth.

4oz on tap at Barleys on Dublin. Mostly clear golden orange color. Thin off-white head, leaving good thicker sheets of lace. Caramel malt, kind of musty, toasty, metallic. Moderate sweet, moderate bitter. Not much hop aroma, nothing interesting at all, kind of an astringent bitterness. Medium plus body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Not a good IPA at all. Old? Probably. I told the bartender it was terrible, she agreed, and said they havenít been able move this. Unsurprising as itís the most boring selection on the menu, it looked like.

Old notes - 12oz bottle, May 2014. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Piney aroma, resinous, table sugar sweetness, bitter, medicinal. Sadly the flavor is even worse. Table sugar, floral, piney, bitter, medicinal, orange based cleaner. Meh.

Hoppy, earthy and smooth, a refreshing IPA. I can taste the barley and wheat dripping in hoppy oils. Whatever that means, thanks Widmer, I havenít given up on you yet.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped JUL 31-14. The pour is exactly the way it should look with a cloudy, unfiltered pale yellow leading up to a decent white head. The aroma is hop forward with floral and grassy qualities. Mute wheat. Smells very West Coast. The body is medium to heavy. The taste has a graininess at first leading up to a big floral bitterness that linger a tad dryly at the end.
