COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with 6 different hop varieties and 3 different grains, including wheat, Upheaval will be a fitting tribute, not only to the bold Northwest-style IPA, but to Kurt and Rob Widmer’s unapologetic attitude in legacy of innovation.

Old notes - 12oz bottle, May 2014. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Piney aroma, resinous, table sugar sweetness, bitter, medicinal. Sadly the flavor is even worse. Table sugar, floral, piney, bitter, medicinal, orange based cleaner. Meh.

Hoppy, earthy and smooth, a refreshing IPA. I can taste the barley and wheat dripping in hoppy oils. Whatever that means, thanks Widmer, I haven’t given up on you yet.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped JUL 31-14. The pour is exactly the way it should look with a cloudy, unfiltered pale yellow leading up to a decent white head. The aroma is hop forward with floral and grassy qualities. Mute wheat. Smells very West Coast. The body is medium to heavy. The taste has a graininess at first leading up to a big floral bitterness that linger a tad dryly at the end.

355ml bottle, golden brown with a light haze, wheat and biscuit malt, caramel, floral hop, citrus hints, pine. Good balance of flavours with a bitter finish. Medium bodied, oily texture with lively carbonation.

Bottle at Åens Øl. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Hazy amber body. Powerful peach grapefruit hops aroma. Hoppy fruity grass grapefruit pine flavor with low carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Orange colour, white head. Aroma of malts, bisquits, caramel, peaches, plums, orange. Taste is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter. Medium body, oily slick texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Nose is strong dough and pine, not much citrus, a little spice, small whiff of booze. Pours hazy orange with a dense beige head. Taste somewhat sweet with a tart underlining, strongly bitter with copious resin and very faint astringency, but strong levels of tannin (too much!) and a touch of onion and salt. Lightly soapy. Very earthy hops, light caramel, strong pine, minimal citrus. Malt is strong enough to offer some balance, but simplistic. Body full and flavorful, crisp but heavy and soporific. Here’s a hint to Widmer: when you mix six kinds of hops together, all you get is muddle.

Zekada (269) - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - OCT 25, 2014
Bottle from beermechantsa.com. Smell is heavy hops and some fresh citrus and just a hint of yeast. Pours pale amber with a small white head. Taste lacks a bit of hops for my taste, though pleasant and fresh, and is very drinkable. Palate is easy and fresh. Overall an enjoyable IPA with a fresh feeling to it, though lacking some, hops-wise.

On draft at Legends. Pours amber with a white head. Citrus, tropical fruit, caramel, moderate bitterness. Pretty good. I liked it more than I expected to. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
