3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mzaar (345) - Varberg, SWEDEN - FEB 6, 2012

Opaque black with just a touch of clearing at the bottom of the glass. The aromatics are my favorite part. Lots of pine and citrus. Kinda one dimensional palate. Malty IPA with some roasted traits, but nothing too deep or complex. Bitter IPA finish.

Pours a deep, dark, stout-black with mid-sized, creamy foam head. Strong aroma of floral hops. Flavor of hops--piney bitterness, citrus notes, with a bitter, almost soapy finish.

Aroma: great depth of hop, dark malt backing with vinous follow up. Straight shooting single purpose aroma. 7+
Appearance: clean dark brown with lighter white top.
Palate / Taste: medium light bodied. Roast notes, dark barley, hint of coffee. Bitter hops on to. Bit thin at end. Still solid brew. 13+
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Daytonbeer (189) - Ohio, USA - JAN 21, 2012
Pours jet black with slightly off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is light; malts and citrus hops. Taste is very enjoyable; hoppy with some nice malts for balance. Alittle watery.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 crazyvin (1534) - New York, USA - JAN 13, 2012
A nice black body with a tan head that had some retention and mild lace. Aroma had some nice roasted malt notes, reminding me of mild coffee. Hops were mostly citrusy but there was some pine notes. Nice moderately roasted coffee malts balance out well with the citrus hop notes. Somewhat light and watery on the palate which really took away from the beer, otherwise it was good.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 thebusstop (122) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 11, 2012
A very drinkable IPA if you’re not a hophead. The nose is equal parts malt and hops with pine and burnt brown sugar. There’s a sweetness that is reminiscent of a chocolate chip cookie in the bouquet as well. I found the palate most troublesome, being a little too light, watery and astringent.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 milewide (1017) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Clear black color with red at the edges. Decent tan head. Typical hop profile with average flavor and aftertaste bitterness. Roast flavor addition is very modest.
