COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the classic French Farmhouse Ale, our interpretation gets its deep ruby red hue from a hint of caramel and dark chocolate malts. The citrus spice of Saaz hops provides a perfect balance and gives each sip a refreshing, peppery finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours almost clear root beer-brown with a medium beige head with decent retention; leaves some lace. Aroma is fresh baked bread, clove, pepper. Taste is sweet and sour with a dry hoppy finish. Body is a little thin, carbonation pretty high. This is really tasty, if not really all that saison-ish.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting creamy amber headf. Aromas of burnt carmel, cola, spice, light yeast and light fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, cola, spice, light yeast and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

Pint on draft at Ventis Taphouse, S.Salem. $4.00 Dark amber beer with a fair sized off white head. Nice fresh aromas..toffee,semi dark chocolate and spice. Nice d tasty beer cross of the citric hops ,dark roasty malts and some Belgian yeast..unusual but good. Great palate drank very well indeed. Overall a nice unusual yet drinkable beer.

Bottle: Pleasant beer. Not "dark" like a "dark" Fantome, but just a little darker than your average, run-of-the-mill saison. So I was a little disappointed there. But it’s still a decent beer. Has a reddish-brown hue with a bright white head. Light and rounded texture. Yeasty-spicy nose. Malts are sweet with elements of bread dough, candi sugar and brown sugar. Hop bitterness is extremely mild. Gentle spices surface; reminiscent of clove and allspice. Soft fruit flavors of pear, apple and white grapes. Overall, it’s "light" in more ways than it’s "dark," but it’s still tasty and pleasant.

pours a clear amber with a large of-white head and very good lacing. smell is caramel, nuts, malt, and some spice. taste is creamy, caramel, a touch of spice, a wee bit sour, some yeast, and malt hidden in the back. ends smooth with a slightly sour aftertaste.

Bottle. Poured a dark copper color. A nice film of head remained in glass. Aroma is peppery, with some faint caramel, and grass, and faint hops. Lite bitter, lite sweet. Lighter bodied. Starts off with promise with some caramel and Belgium candy notes and hops, then ends with a bit of a grassy hay taste. Not bad.

Bottle. Strong wheat aroma with some sweetness. Really pleasant nose. Has a farmhouse quality. Clear, dark amber body. Thin white head. A little dryer taste than the aroma would suggest. Solid brew. Quite a bit of flavor for the abv.

Draft at GABBF. Bright amber color, small tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of bitter and peppery caramel. Taste is similar with light chocolate. Not bad.
