This was a very pleasant find, and inexpensive where I got it here in Chicago. Probably my second favorite Belgian white, though I havenít tried that many.

A nice cloudy wit with a smidge of bitterness. The aroma is of citrus and coriander is evident. Dry finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pale, cloudy, thin head. Fruity smell with slight lemon. Flat hoppiness, dry finish. Kind of like a Celis white but a bit less sugary. Not bad!

Taste: Wheat, yeast, coriander, citric and fruity.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy orangeish/yellow with a decent creamy white head. Light carbonation. Wheat aroma laced with citrus, mild coriander, cardamom and oranges. Mellow body, so soft on the palate with a balanced array of Wit flavors. Full bodied and lightly tart with a snappy wheat bite. Very tasty and well balanced version. Bargain priced as well.

Good stuff, but not up to par with Hoegaarden. Great favor but not the same finesse in the finish.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2007 Aha! What have we here but a Belgian Wit from - Holland? Ok. Ummm. Not really sure what to think going into this. I have never heard of it. My expectations were not real high as I have seen multiple examples recently of people ruining the wit style. Well, at least the bottle was reasonably pretty in a simple style. I sampled this one from the 12 oz bottle from which the beer poured a cloudy light golden color. Not bad color. Nice cloudiness. No floaters though. No head either - which worried me. The scent had strong citrus notes and a light wheat undertone. The flavor was strong with lemon, light with wheat, and finished with an interesting spicy note. Surprisingly I found this to be a pretty darn good wit. I will have to see about having it again.
