2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Brown bodied, big creamy light tan head. Caramel, butterscotch, toffee. Very different from what I expected. Medium sweet. Okay but not quite my taste.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark amber-brown body, off white head. Heavily buttery nose, caramel too. Sourish yoghurty malty taste, unimpressive.

keg at the brewpub
Mid red-brown medium bodied with ripe fruit, a touch of chocolate and sweet malt body. Enjoyable but not the best.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at the brewpub.
Brown colour. Creamy head. Toasty nose, along with chocolate. Flavour is dominated by milk chocolate in a light body. Pretty one-dimensional for a dunkel, and no nuttiness at all.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tap at the brewpub. Aroma washing cloth, soapy, not the least bit good. Some very light dark, caramel malts in the background. Beige head, moderate duration. Clear dark ruby-brown colour. Taste got more of the same as aroma. A little coffee makes appearance, also caramel. But overall a disappointment. Flawed beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Redish brown, somewhat undefined color with white foam haed. Aroma is sweet caramel, light yeast. Taste is bit too much caramel, again some yeast and less bitter. Short aftertaste. (Vienna 201210)

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Draught at the brewpub. And for the third time... DMS, DMS, DMS. Oh, some shy grainy coffee note somewhere far in the back. Otherwise, this is just corn and cooked vegetables. It takes some skill to brew a dark beer that would be dominated by DMS to such a degree.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
0,5 l bottle, bought at the brewpub. The beer called simple Dunkles and has a 4,5% abv, but after the taste i think this is the right place because of the style. It has a nice appearance with a deep ruby body with a 1cm-high foamy beige head. Fine sourish aroma of roasted malt and some toasted caramel, light coffee. Smooth mouthfeel with a well balanced roasted flavor with a mild coffee taste, fine caramel malt and nice sourish bottom-yeast. Very drinkable, well balanced beer without any big surprise.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
19/07 On tap at the brewpub. It poured clear red to brown body with smaller brownish head. Light caramel and toffee aroma. Empty flavor, some sweetness is here in caramel form, as well as some rustical grainy/herbal note. Slight butter acidity note make deScription complete. Thin body of course, finish was short watery and a bit milky. Wouldn’t be bad if it wasn’t so empty.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Wieden Bräu, Vienna. Dark brown with a thin tanned head. Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Smooth and bitter mouthfeel. Chocolate and licorice showing through in the finish. It’s nice but definitley a stout and not a dunkel at all. Good for what it is though.
