Dark reddish brown colour with big creamy light tan head. Dark malt and lots of it, some caramel, dark chocolate and mild coffee in aroma. Very heavy and dark malty flavour. Roasted malt, some hoppy bitterness and alcohol in flavour. Very enjoyable but heavy Doppelbock.

500 ml bottle from Maruhn in Darmstadt, Germany. Pours a brpwn color and a small tan head. Sweet malty caramel aroma and sweet caramel, light malt and alcoholic taste. Palate is a sweet and sticky alcoholic finish. Not bad.

Bottled 50cl. Ordered from www.bierzwerg.de. It pours a dark ruby amber beer with an average sized beige head. Strong malty nose where pumpernickel, honey, almonds, homemade fudge, raisins and marzipan show up- inviting. Sweet. Full bodied. Low carbonation. Some icelandic moss appearing in the taste. Slightly warming on the swallow. Some lacework. Licorice and caramel in the finish (some residual sugars) which makes you eager to take another sip.

Dark brown color; medium sized compact head. It has a regular caramel aroma and caramel flavor, some chocolate flavor too. Correct bitterness. Not bad, but easy.

Dunkler Malzantrunk, der doch noch frische Nuancen beinhaltet. So steht der ausgeprägten Malzigkeit eine leichte Herbe gegenüber, die aber sogar noch etwas abflacht und das Malz agieren lässt. Röstig, nussig, das Bier wird im Mittelteil sehr süß, zum Glück legt sich dies im Abgang wieder. Dort, wo es aber vorhanden ist, wirkt es störend und das einzige Mal ist das Bier unausgeglichen. Vollmundig malziger Abgang, in dem die noch vorhandene Süße zur Süffigkeit beiträgt. Sehr gelungener Doppelbock!

swing top bottle (500ml). -Clear amber coloured, small to medium sized white head, caramel in the nose. Toasted malt, brown sugar and caramel with nutty and spicy notes. Also some hops in the finish. Ok doppelbock.

Bottled. From Csakajósör, Budapest. Thanks Gergely. Ruby brown colour with off-white head. Light chocolatey aroma up front, followed up by heavy sweet maltiness with almond paste and hazelnuts. Full-bodied and sweet malty with mint chocolate and subtle almonds along with an alcohol touch at the back of the tongue. Big on the Co2. Good, balanced doppelbock as often from Germany.

Bottle from Csakajósör. Poured with a deep-ruby color and a quickly disappearing head. Caramel, berry fruits, hint of vanilla, hay, cellar, raisins, nuts in the dessert-like aroma. Sweet taste in a medium dense body with fairly low carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden in the long lasting sweet finish. A decent doppelbock!
